The lobby of this place is filled with a nice edging of gardens along the central paths, with swans in the small pond in the center. The swans were a bit strange, but unique. I love hotels that have rooms that face a central courtyard. One can hear the hum of the hotel and walk out into the bright air of the day instead of a dark, gloomy hallway. The staff was sugar sweet and they visibly cared about their hotel. The new orange and brown modern renovations suited the place especially well with twisty fake flowers in large vases. The rooms felt more like an apartment than a hotel room because I could close the door between the 'living room' and the bedroom. 2 desks too!Recommended for:

Tranquility oozes from every corner of this place. From the moment I walked in I felt at ease with the high level of professionalism amongst the staff and the elegant and tasteful decor. While waiting on my room I noticed a swan swimming around in the water feature. I thought surely it was just a decoy. Nope. These guys came from England and are so well trained they never leave their pool. Sweetest little things. The treadmills in the fitness room are brand new and have personal TVs attached which I really appreciate. There's a small business station but also multiple workstations through the lobby where you can plug in and log onto Wi-Fi. The rooms are comfortable and like most suites, have separate living and bedroom areas. The convenience shop has Stouffers and Lean Cuisine though you'll pay a bit more than visiting the nearby grocer.Recommended for:

The first thing I noticed when I walked into the Embassy Suites was that they had replaced all the 80s standard hotel art with new, vibrant paintings by an artist that uses a lot of water scenes and the art is fabulous, this is important to me. Winding through the lobby, you can help yourself to some citrus infused water while you look at the indoor water feature with a swan couple who swim proudly and who may even perform for you, hoping for a snack. Their restaurant serves three meals a day that while I didn’t get a chance to try, I was promised were a reason to come back and I plan on it and the real perk is that when you stay there there’s a complimentary happy hour every night. If you want to spend time in your room, they are all suites and large with a sitting area, mini fridge and work station and if you want to venture out, there’s a business center, a good fitness center and an indoor pool and hot tub with the comforting smell of chlorine and an outdoor area with lounge chairs for you to work on your color. If you’re interested in seeing some of the local sites, the Galleria mall is within a mile and one of the best shopping destinations in the country and there’s also Addison which is a hot spot for restaurants and entertainment, no matter what you decide to do, you’re sure to enjoy your stay.Recommended for:

Embassy Suites holds a special place in my heart. My stay here was my one-and-only business trip as a suit-wearing finance-peddling analyst for the *gulp* Federal Reserve Bank (I quit a year later—great job, not for me, long story).
A few of my other coworkers got put up at some of the more luxurious hotels attached to the Galleria, where our "business" was to be conducted. I'm happy to report that my stay at Embassy Suites pleased me more than those hotels did them. Why? Embassy Suites took care of the basics: a complimentary breakfast buffet (complete with an omelette station) and a Manager's Reception at the bar in the evenings (yes, I consider that a "basic"). I started and ended each day happily.
Rooms were spacious and clean, though they weren't exactly "luxurious." I did not expect them to be, so I was not disappointed.
It may not be connected to the mall, but it's within easy walking distance. The nearby CVS is an additional convenience.Recommended for:
