If you’re familiar with the Embassy Suites brand, then you’ll be happy to hear that the signature services are on offer here. This includes a free breakfast, including a customizable omelet bar, and the manager’s reception in the evening, with complimentary beer, wine and cocktails. I really liked the large atrium in the center of the hotel. It’s where the breakfast and beverages are served, but is also inviting at any time.
As the name suggests, all of the rooms are suites, and all come with a pullout sofa; the work/sleep areas are otherwise nicely separated. There are a handful of “pure rooms,” for those with hypoallergenic needs. WiFi prices are tiered, depending on how long you need internet services. Shuttles to LAX run on a continuous loop 24 hours a day, leaving the hotel every 20 minutes. During the week, it’s mostly business travelers, while families tend to stay on weekends.

Keep in mind when making your reservation here that there is also an Embassy Suites LAX South, which is a different hotel slightly farther away from the airport. The outside is an unexciting grey stucco, which hides a dramatically pretty open atrium. I had the pleasant impression of being outdoors with a courtyard filled with café tables, trees, a gazebo, glass elevators, a two-story fountain, flowerbox balconies and lots of natural light. All rooms have a parlor with windows that overlook the inner atrium, and a bedroom with a street-side balcony -- they feel more like a comfortable apartment than a hotel room. If you are afflicted with allergies, remember to ask for one of the seven Pure suites, which, for a $20 surcharge, features an air purifier and a “near-allergen-free” environment.

This is a good choice for staying near LAX. It has the typical Embassy Suites amenities, namely the large 2 room suite.
The front room includes a 3 cushion couch, reading chair, coffe table, 4 chaired table/desk, TV, wet bar, microwave, refrigerator, and coffemaker. It is big enough to hold a casual meeting either at the table or the sofa. The power outlet near the table had a 6 outlet adapter in it, perfect for all those recharging electronics needs.
The rear room has a king size bed (or 2 queens) with 5 pillows, a bedroll, a nice soft cushiony pad over a firmish bed, a double armoir with TV entertianment and drawers on one side, and the other side a armoired closet. In the middle connecting is a long vanity table with overhead recessed lighting and a large 4 foot mirror.
In Jan-Mar, you can get a rate about $159 if you try, which is excellent for the LAX hotel strip considering you get free hot breakfast buffet and evening Manager's happy hour included. There is a window enclosed year round indoor pool and jacuzzi, and a Precor C/V equipment equipped gym. There is the typical large atrium lobby that is the signature of Embassy Suites, with plenty of tables to meet, eat or drink, and the obligatory bubbling fountain.
For a lot less than the Hilton, Marriotts, Westin or even the Sheraton Gateway at LAX, you can get more space, a suite, and free breakfast and evening drinks and appetizers at this 8 story Embassy Suites with a free shuttle to the airport.
The decor and building are a little bit dated, but this can easily be ignored for the upside benefits at a reasonable rate.
