Empire Hotel

44 West 63rd St., New York, NY 10023
9 reviews

The Empire is a Manhattan Roaring hot 20s spot with killer rooftop views from its popular bar and sleek lobby. It could use a bit of touching up; however, this used to be the place to be for locals about 3-4 years ago, before Gossip Girl promoted it on its show and it became a bit cheesy afterwards.

    Toloache Restaurant

    0.66 mi from Empire Hotel

Toloache Restaurant is one of the best Mexican restaurants I've been to, hands down. It's also one of the most expensive ones. However its hefy price tag is justified once you've tried anything on the menu. I had the Costilla de Res when I went to Toloache for the first time. It was braised beef short rib covered in carrot-chile ...

    The Plaza Food Hall

    0.65 mi from Empire Hotel

After a long day of work, a glass of wine and a nice dinner is just what you need. I recently had one of those long days and just wanted a no nonsense meal. My friend suggested the Plaza. The Plaza? I’m a cheapeater and the Plaza isn’t cheapeating. Fear not my friend, it is. Down below in the shopping ...

This is a very good, family owned, Italian restaurant, very small, only about six tables and bar, and the food was fantastic! (highly recommend their pizza’s) My wife and I ate their three times during our week in NYC.

Nice breakfast option on Amsterdam a block from the 79 St. metro stop (1 line). It is a bit over priced but the interior is warm, and the staff is friendly. While there are better breakfast options, Nice-Matin is totally acceptable

This spot in the West Village is a bit overrated in my opinion. The atmosphere and music is very cool--makes you think you’ve stepped into a 1920s time warp, but the food is utterly “meh...”

    Quality Meats

Quality Meats just sounds like such an odd name for such a high-end place. I absolutely fell in love with the interior design of this place. It looks like something out of a magazine. I found myself photographing towel shelves and sconces in the bathroom. The food is top-notch, high quality steakhouse fare. Service was excellent and over all it ...

Ambiance is nice and the wait staff are both friendly and professional. That alone might be enough to like this place but the food is fantastic, beautiful and delicious! Arugula salads, homemade gnocchi and cannelloni and the warm chocolate cake with ice cream afterwards made for a fun, romantic dinner. Highly recommend, especially if you like wine with dinner. All you can eat pasta for $20-ish?! With appetizers? Yes please! The aioli was very good (fresh red bell pepper taste) Service was slow during our lunch though. During our visit they had butternut squash ravioli, tomato basil spaghetti and another ragu-ish looking pasta. Nothing amazing, but all were satisfying.

Gotta love this place for the kitsch factor. Think LGBT disco turned diner. The food isn't spectacular but the music is thumping and the staff here are an absolute riot. Be sure to check out the Justin Timberlake themed bathroom.

I really wanted to like this place but sadly the morning I went in, the first thing I noticed were the flies dancing around the baked goods on display and landing wherever they pleased. Unfortunately that means most of the breads I wanted to purchase were victims of this fly-play-date. I did however purchase a morning bun and twist (hoping ...
