The way to explain Excalibur Hotel and Casino to a person who has never been there before is; Disney-like appeal on a very low budget. The beds are not comfortable to sleep on, but I can certainly tell you if you've got a family that needs to be entertained then this is a good spot for the budget friendly. It is very inexpensive and lies right on the strip. There is an outdoor pool and arcade for kids and of course gambling for the adults. If you don't mind the dated appeal to the hotel, then this can be a fun spot.Recommended for:

You would think being in a medieval castle-like hotel is cool, but this place is dated haha...a bit janky. It's cheaper than the other hotels, so it's a good option when there's special events, like EDC! We has a room with two beds. It did the job. There's no mini-fridge, but you can use the bucket to get ice. Getting around is pretty convenient--just take the sky bridge to New York New York; there's also a tram to get to Luxor.Recommended for:

It's older, the place needs some work, the rooms are OK. But ... the price was amazing ($29 / night for standard 2 queen beds and older TV (tube)).
I did appreciate the coffee shop at the base of the elevators in Tower 1 (did not have to hike across the casino to get some java).
If I was here with my spouse, I might have upgraded or stayed somewhere else. But don't need a widescreen TV for "casino cable" service (12 channels - 3 are Vegas ads).
Also centrally located in the southern strip, so you can get anywhere else by foot or tram.

This is an older property, but it looks like Disneyland from the outside. The rooms are basic, and they have a variety of restaurants, shows, bars, and shops. I have had some fun in the casino here, and they have some decent odds on blackjack.

The Restaurants area is pretty complete if you want fast food. They have the stripper show there as well. My mother loved the casino here. She said the machines were pretty rewarding

I gave it 4 stars because it's the first hotel I stayed at when I was 9. It was the most amazing place I had ever seen. This was before New York New York, etc. I always walk through for nostalgia purposes.Recommended for:

It's Medieval madness here at the Excalibur - complete with shiny, cartoon style props reminiscent of King Arthur times. It can be a little cheesy, but if you get past that, it's a nice hotel to choose. It's toward the end of the Strip, but directly across from the MGM Grand (and the last stop on the Monorail), and has a direct walkway link to the neighboring Egyptians at the Luxor. Ladies will enjoy the added bonus of the Thunder Down Under show - and models will snag you for naughty pictures in the lobby. ;) I personally prefer to dine at the Luxor, but Excalibur's buffet is by no means bad. The rooms are comfortable and large enough - we had two double beds and four women and never stepped on each other's toes, although the bathroom was a bit small and the shower is a curtained bathtub. (Definitely could use some upgrading there.) The views vary by where you're put, and we looked out on air conditioning vents and rooftops (with a slice of the Strip in the background). It's not first-class luxury, and it definitely lacks the splendor and grandeur of other Vegas hotels, but it's a great choice for price and theme. You could stay at a Motel 6 off the strip for the same price and miss out on the theme, entertainment, and proximity to the action.Recommended for:

The refurbished rooms are great for the little bit of extra cash you pay for them. Totally worth upgrade. As far as the stay, it's the cheapest hotel on the strip. Amazing views, decent rooms, but definitely,' family oriented'. Way safer than circus and more fun, also directly connected to NYNY so easy to get great food if you are not finding stuff in their food court.Recommended for:

Excalibur is one of those hotels that's famous without you necessarily knowing what it's called until you get there. It's the one that looks like a white castle with red and blue turrets. It's a nice spot, very family friendly in both it's design and location (near New York, New York and the Luxor).Recommended for:

This is definitely one of the older, more kitchy hotels on the strip. It's certainly cheaper than the newer hotels around the strip. This may be more of a family friendly hotel, but I'd still have to point out that the arcade was not impressive.Recommended for:

Super fun if you have kids. Not so much if you don't. We used to go all the time because of the fun carnival games in the basement, but haven't been in ages.
I used to be really good at shooting these crossbow arrows, won a bunch of toys one year. Although I always thought that those things are super dangerous since they are essentially weapons in a very crowded, confined space. I bet they don't let you shoot those anymore with all the security changes in this world.Recommended for:

It had the 2 things I expect in my hotels- comfortable beds and high pressure hot showers.
No amenities in the room- not even a coffee maker! Three clothes hangers. And a shower floor that you may cause you to slip and bust your skull. Adequate towels. The walls aren't super thick but I couldn't hear the people in the next room speaking or what was on their TV. The box office isn't large enough or adequately staffed. Buca Di Beppo upstairs. Casino is huge and has a lot of variety.
