I come here for Awakening Fridays when I'm not too tired to go out or when my friend bugs me to go.
If you show up early then hit up Syrup across the street for some waffles and coffee.
My favorite EDM club with crappy reception unless you have an iphone5. Last time I went it was pretty ravey inside...which I hate...but I love the music and their laser light show is so cool. The venue could get pretty crowded but there's enough space to breathe if you get slightly claustrophobic. First floor is pretty chill with an outdoor smoking area, second floor has 3 different rooms (1 main stage, 1 with bar and another where you can sit and chat) and third floor you need a bracelet and you get a great view of the dj from above away from the crowd.
dress code: not strict, i usually wear something comfortable
parking: valet parking everywhere
drink: nothing that great, if you want something to get you drunk then ask for LA Water
crowd: lots of asians
note: The 2nd floor where the main stage is the best place to feel the music with the speakers bumpin. The top floor is great if you can't stand being in crowds.
random: facebook the movie was filmed here

I normally come here on Saturday nights for Asian club nights, which is one of the hottest places to be for the Asians. However, I've been here for a fashion show, concert and art opening. The venue is huge (2 stories) with elegant lighting and plenty of bars. This is a fantastic venue for all types of events and most Thurs-Sat nights it's club nights. It's never been too hot and because the location is so spacious, I have never felt as though it was ever too crowded. This is such an idea space for a major DJ to play at.

There's so much I can say about Exchange because I've been there so many times! Well, only on Awakening Fridays... Insomniac brings in the best djs! The only things I dislike is that I have poor reception inside (t-mobile) and the lines can be long.
There is valet parking, a parking structure nearby, and you can find parking on some streets. But for the last option, you have to move your car by 2 am.
The venue is a decent size and looks cool. There are three floors, the third one being a balcony floor overlooking the main stage, but usually it's reserved for tables. There are also side rooms with couches. Exchange has a lot of places where you can sit... that's a big plus since they open till 3 or 4.
The crowd is mostly asian. The dress code is not strict, so you'll see a mix of casual and dressed up people. It feels like going to a concert because it seems most of the crowd is there to see the djs, therefore a lot of standing and staring straight and jumping around.
Great sound system so it can be really loud! Bring some earplugs. Get some etymotic earplugs so that it doesn't sound muffled :) Great lights and lasers, they look more amazing from the balcony.
The bars are easy to access (I can remember 5 total) and the service is usually quick. The drinks are not cheap but that's expected... so just do what I do and drink beforehand too! If you know a promoter, they can let you know if there are any deals going on, and sometimes you can get a free well drink with your ticket.
Oh another cool thing at this venue is that they have a recovery room... Hahahah so if you or your friends are too drunk, you won't get kicked out but you'll just get sent to the recovery room, where they nurse you back to health with water and trashbags. and I think I even saw someone with a foil blanket! I've never been taken there myself (hehe!) but I've had to rescue friends a couple of times. There's even a quick exit so you can bring your car around and pick up your friend through the back... It doesn't mean no one sees you though, because it's right next to the crowded smoking patio.
Now on the other hand, if you don't end the night in the back alley of Exchange, there are many bacon wrapped hot dog carts outside the regular exit. But get them quick before they start running away from the cops!

This is the place to be on the weekends! Insomniac teamed up with Exchange LA to present you electronic's top EDM artist to play here every Fri & Sat. This club has 2 dance floors (main stage on the 2nd floor and a gallery downstairs) and exclusive loft for private parties that offers you a whole view of the main dance floor. Come prepared because this club has an awesome sound system and lighting system. Drinks are done well and priced nicely. Definitely a hot spot to go to mingle or have a good time!

Asians everywhere. Nice hallway. They often host art events at this venue (Blue Canvas and LA CANVAS have both hosted events here), and this is one of the hot spots to check out during the monthly art walk. Great place to dance! But make sure you go with a group of friends if you want to have fun - not a place for solo ventures.

Gorgeous venue built by Samuel E. Lunden in the Art Deco style. See here for more info: http://bigorangelandmark….com/2009/01/no-205-los-angeles-stock-exchange.html
I had the opportunity to check out Exchange LA last year and this place was breathtaking. The doors are beautiful, as are the bas relief sculptures that decorate the exterior of the building. The multi-floored venue can hold a considerable amount of people. Apparently the weekends get packed here. The staff was super friendly on the night I went. Check out the Exchange for a cool club venue, but come for the sheer thrill of stepping into a historical landmark.

Funktion One speakers, a large dance floor, and great electronic acts = my dream come true. Insomniac Events is now running a series called "Awakening" every Friday, which ups the ante even more. Oh, and if anyone needs tickets for the Friday events...let me know. :)
