The EMP is a must-do for music lovers. Get interactive and play the guitar, drop the needle and see if you have what it takes to be a rock star. Fantastic displays that showcase the rich musical history of the Northwest - everyone from Hendrix to Cobain all called Seattle home. Temporary exhibitions feature the gods of rock - even the building is shaped like a smashed guitar!

This museum is so phenomenal, it's reason enough to visit Seattle. In fact, give yourself a day - or even two - to see the whole thing if you can. The architecture is amazing and strange, the collections are fascinating and incredible (e.g. an entire room devoted to the Seattle music scene, including Kurt Cobain's original song lyrics scribbled on notebook paper), and the interactive music room is fun fun fun. Though a music lover's paradise, I think anyone would appreciate this temple of rock'n'roll history.

If you like music, this is the place. I'm a fan of garage rock, and there's a lot of history here from Jazz, to garage rock, Jimi, and even Sir Mix-A-Lot! The presentation is very cool. I loved all the old guitars and interviews of many great musicians.

My appreciation for grunge music went from zero to a hundred all because of this place. I really appreciated how interactive and tech-savvy this museum is. I thoroughly enjoyed this place. I thought it would take me 1.5 hours to go through this place but it took me double the time bc there is a lot to do and see.

This destination at Seattle Center is a two-for-one package that makes for a great day. The Experience Music Project is a museum of rock-and-roll and pop music with a lot of great exhibits and hands-on stations. Seattle has always been a great music town, so it's thrilling to see instruments and other memorabilia from artists like Jimi Hendrix. Kids get the biggest kick out of the room full of playable instruments. Downstairs, the Science Fiction Museum has a great collection of pieces from fantastic movies and TV shows, including some items from Jim Henson productions.

This is a must for anyone who loves music. I had no idea before I came here that Seattle was the home to so many amazing musicians and bands. There are tons of displays here, some are just exhibitions and others are fully interactive. If you have kids, it's also a great place to go - there are lots of interactive displays for kids to experiment with and start them early on the road to being a music lover!
