guides (Gambero Rosso, etc), and if you arrive at lunch, one room is dedicated to making the pasta for the evening and the other to accommodating diners. The atmosphere is country casual, with wooden beams lining the ceiling and checkered tablecloths. The wine list will take you from Sicily to Piedmont, sampling rarely seen Italian grapes all the way. One of my favorite Roman spots, this is a place that's taking the eternal city into the modern day without sacrificing the amazing, mouthwatering traditions of the past.

Enoteca Ferrara is just off Piazza Trilussa in Trastevere. The best time to come is for aperitivo. It's not the cheapest you'll find in the city, but the quality is good and the wine list sublime. We ... read more

more unique than anything you'll find anywhere else. I ordered a slice of ham and minced fish (I don't actually know the specifics since he spoke so fast) and a slice of Parmigiano-Reggiano, tomatos and herbs. Both were fantastic, though I really wish I went with something wilder with the latter option. You can really taste the bread. Service? Fantastic. The guy behind the counter was all smiles, explanations and friendliness. The cassiera could've been a bit more warm, but hey, you get used to this after awhile... Roma. The pizzeria is located just a block away from the Cipro Metro, so it's incredibly easy to get to if you're Metro-friendly. If you like pizza, you must come here. I'm already thinking about my next visit.

best I've had. The meat is juicy, the bread (made by Bonci of Pizzarium) is soft and flavorful, and the mozzarella and basil... delicious. Pair that with some of the best potato chips and finest ketchup in the universe, and a huge selection of craft beers from around the world (including several selections from Italy), and you have an amazing meal. All beers cost only 5 per serving, which is a better price than pretty much every other pub in Centro Storico. You MUST come here if you love beer. Aim for noontime if you'd rather not wait with the night crowd.

Gelateria Fatamorgana. It was by far the best gelato I had during my two months in Italy. I liked Giolitti. I loved Corona. Old Bridge was alright. But Fatamorgana won me over with its amazing flavors, fresh flavors and its beautiful location in Monti. I tried the basil with honey and walnuts and the Syrian pistachio, enjoyed along the stone wall in Piazza degli Zingari. The lamps of Monti illuminated the warm Roman night as a couple sat to my left, a family with children to my right. I enjoyed those two flavors as slowly as possible. A dream. I could not have picked a better final gelato moment in Rome.
