This young hotel has a few odd features. You’ll have to sign up for the “President’s Club” or else pay 15.99 a night for internet access, which is kind of annoying. Also, near as I can tell, there’s no real difference the rooms in the “Fairmont Gold” have over the regular ones. At least this Fairmont does have spacious rooms and bathrooms, no matter the price. The rooms are spread out over four different separate buildings creating a resort-like feel, and you are indeed right on the water, so most of the rooms have a nice view. You’re almost literally next door to the USS Constitution and a short walk away from North Station, a travel hub for much of New England. The fitness center doubles as home for both the hotel gym and the spa/health club exhale, which has a diverse (if somewhat expensive) weekly menu of programs.

If you're looking for a decently-priced hotel with water views, look no further than the fairmont battery wharf. We had a room that overlooked the harbor and I personally loved watching all the cargo ships come in and out of the harbor.
The room itself was well equipped and had a modern feel to it. Its a fairmont, so in order to get free internet (as I found out at a prior stay at a Boston Fairmont), you have to sign up for the hotels promotional email list, but its definitely worth saving the $15/day charge. Service was good and I took advantage of the location near Fanueil Hall and the Statehouse to do some sightseeing between meetings.

Most rooms have some sort of water view. This new hotel is in a few buildings at the end of the wharf, and very close to all the North End action (just about 3 minutes walk to Mike's Pastry).
