    Mukutan Garden Café

    0.06 mi from Fairview Hotel
    1 review

One of the three Fairviews restaurants. This one has a menu as weird as the others. Sushi, Thai, quesadillas, salads, sandwiches, and pizza. Nothing is too impressive. You do get to sit in the garden though with some wise old trees and bubbling fountains.

    Slims Restaurant

    0.32 mi from Fairview Hotel
    2 reviews

Slims is great for cocktails and buffalo wins, but they won’t crack open a bottle of wine just for one glass. You will have to make do with their Drostdy – Hof red from the box (which was actually not bad at all). The ambience is superb if you sit at the cylindrical bar, or at the window, watching the ...

    Java House Upper Hill

    0.3 mi from Fairview Hotel
    1 review

This coffee house standard bearer is known for its high – quality coffee. And it certainly lived up to its reputation during my visit. The service was immediate, even though I called in the mid-morning downtime. The bonus to my Java House experience was that my cappuccino was paired with a chocolate croissant the size of a small loaf of ...

We tried their Villa Belvedere Merlot. The bouquet was healthy and robust, but the taste was mild and didn’t have much of an impression. The ambience is perfect for enjoing a glass of red wine on a lazy evening, though. Try the low white lounge seats instead of the bar.

    Nyanza Dishes (Nyama Choma)

    0.6 mi from Fairview Hotel

Just some tents set-up on the side of the road next to the car wash, but some super tasty nyama choma, and a favorite lunch spot for the surrounding offices. Definitely a great place for some quick, quality grilled chicken and tilapia.

Hidden away from the rest of Nairobi. This is a quiet place to have drinks with friends, or a meal from the menu. there is an outdoor lounge with comfortable couches, or some indoor tables. The service is attentive, but the food is only decent.

One of the newest Java House additions. It has a large outdoor patio, and comfortable couch seating inside. There is a gated parking area, and free wifi. It is located near to the world bank ans some other development institutions, so that is the crowd that is about there.

The poolside restaurant in the Serena hotel. They do overpriced buffets for breakfast and lunch and otherwise have a marginally interesting menu of sandwiches and the sort. The food kind of feels like its from a posh cafeteria, but it is very nice to sit by the pool.

Located at the YWCA, it is a value spot for sure. You can get local dishes, and an assortment of other lunch and dinner items for a couple dollars. Great option if you are on a budget.

    The Gazebo Grill and Restaurant

A locals spot for sure. You can order a whole goat off the menu for 12,000 ksh, and drink Tuskers while watching the news at dusk. Later on the music is turned up and the dance floor is fair game. The whole place is open air, but is a bit loud to sit and chat.

    Amaica Restaurant (Milimani)

    0.41 mi from Fairview Hotel

To taste the local fare this is a great place to go. Delicious stewed beef, and chicken, fried fish, and fresh chapatis. Do be prepared to be the only people here though, as this is not a very popular location. The Westlands location is supposed to be much much nicer, but also expensive.

A well known classic in Nairobi for nyama choma, Congolese dancing and the odd brawl. Set in the central business district, it is not the friendliest place to be at night but the choma is decent, the dancing is quite entertaining, and there is a lot of outdoor seating, so it is a nice place to be when its nice ...

    The Aksum Bar

    0.47 mi from Fairview Hotel

More of a bar than a restaurant, they offer a comfortable venue inside, with some sunny seating on the patio and lawn outdoors as well. The prices definitely have a hotel premium in them, but they play the sports games inside, serve a mean skewer and offer a pleasant place to hang out.

I remember hearing about this place at a dinner party years ago and thinking it sounding interesting though I'm not big on game meats. Now while I would never consider ever eating Lion or the like...after seeing Gazelles, Zebra's etc getting eaten by Lions I figured trying some would be OK. For the most part though I thought the place ...

A popular place for happy hour, and a pleasant ambiance, especially for a restaurant located in a mall. The food is average, but not a good value for the ridiculous price, and lacks anything unique or innovative. Further the service is horrible.
