I stayed at this hotel before/after the extensive renovations.
I started out a seedy motel.
It was transformed into a seedy hotel.
The decor is fine and it is obvious that a lot of thought went into the renovations.
What didn't change was the weird clientele.
It is very transient but if strange characters don't bother you then try it out.
It is very reasonable and across from CBS Studios, The Farmers Market and The Grove.

At first I thought I wasn’t going to like this place, but as soon as I walked in I immediately felt a wave of relaxation. From the friendly staff to the feel of the walls, this place feels just right. Being that there is no roof covering the patio area, it’s quite surprising how they manage to block out the sound of the busy streets outside. Don’t worry though, if you’re a fan of the sun or of the shade, there’s more than enough of both in the patio area. Even on a 90-degree California day, the outside patio seems to maintain room temperature.
There’s a nice relaxing lobby, a very clean pool, and a nice restaurant right outside the lobby. I didn’t get a chance to try the food, but it smelled great. There is no gym in the hotel, but going for a jog down Fairfax would more than likely prove to be fun and entertaining. There is also a nice little business center equipped with a nice and reliable iMac for all your business needs. ☺
This hotel is conveniently located within walking distance from the Farmer’s Market and Grove. There are many nice little restaurants and bars in the area to choose from if you’re not feeling the hotel restaurant. I also liked the fact that Hollywood blvd is only a few blocks away. The CBS studios are right across the street so you might see some familiar faces around the area.
Whether you’re staying for a night, or a weeklong business trip, this hotel can cover all your needs. It’s priced right, it’s accessible, it’s relaxing, and it’s just the thing you might need if you’re just looking to get away. I would definitely recommend you consider staying here next time you’re planning a trip to Los Angeles.

It's had a facelift about 4 years ago, but is still really the seedy (pun intended!) little motel that it has always been. Very conveniently located if you're in town for meetings at CBS. HA! Actually it's across the street from the Farmers Market, which is cool, as well as the Grove. You can take a bus up Fairfax to Hollywood and Highland Complex or to Melrose and walk West for shopping.... about a ten minute drive from Beverly Hills, even with traffic. Not a bad location. Rates are a bit more reflective of location than amenities but it's a good spot.
