This mall is so nice. Very spacious and clean!
I love how one part of the mall has lounge chairs and umbrellas for people to hang out while they shop. It can get a bit confusing walking around this mall... Maybe because I'm not too familiar with this place.
There's many specialty boutiques and interesting stores here. Unfortunately I think the stores are too expensive for me. Alas it's well maintained and parking is ample.
The koi pond is awesome. I don't know of any mall that has a koi pond and allows dogs on the premises.
One day I'll be rich enough to stop at this mall till then I'll be in the bargain section of Target or shopping online :pRecommended for:

I can do a lot of damage at this outdoor shopping center! Not only do they have a Neiman Marcus, Bloomingdale's, Nordstrom and Macy's, but they have a slew of shops, both high end and not so high end. I can also spend a lot of time in Russo's Pet Experience playing with their puppies and kittens. There's also a great variety of restaurants including Yard House, Roy's, R + D Kitchen, Lark Creek and Fig & Olive - to name a few. Beautifully maintained grounds - their giant Christmas tree during the holidays is always a sight to see.Recommended for:

One of the best (if not the best) shopping malls in California.
Fashion Island is a beautiful outdoor venue. It is located right by Newport Beach and the sunset here is simply stunning every single day. Talking about being spoiled by good South Cal weather.
The mall has a good variety of stores. You can find almost any major retailers and department stores. The ambiance is upscale but not excessively uptight. There are interesting stuff to be discovered whether you are a luxury designer worshiper or a budget conscious shopper.
Lots of restaurants around. Sadly most are commercialized chains that lacks surprises but there are still a few gems to be found.Recommended for:

I love this mall!!!
It has everything Upscale and Middle Of The Road you could ever want.
it has about 20 restaurants and movie theatres so you could spend an entire day there and not get bored.
Cap it off with a cocktail at one of the many bars.Recommended for:

Let's go for a walk when the weather is nice. At first I never understood the appeal of outdoor malls. I like the cold artificial air that malls provide. My first impression was this great outdoor place with millions of soccer mom/ housewives pushing around fancy strollers and other owners walking or carrying their dogs in a purse. I swear I was going to see Paris Hilton and/or Brangelia. I know that's Hollywood, but minus the horrible parking and smog Newport Fashion Island gives Hollywood a run for their money. I feel like FI is like a bag of chocolates its very good ate first and the more you try it the better it gets.
Maybe I am being a little cheesy in my description, but I like look at this mall as a destination more than a mall. Besides if I'm going to be tortured/ dragged into shopping might as well like the environment. The weather in Newport Beach is always around 60 -70 degrees and sunny with a chance of rain 1% of the time. If you have every been to the fancy shopping malls in Las Vegas it has the exact same stores and experience the only difference instead of climate control color changing skies you have the real deal. Okay, maybe there aren't any talking Ceasar statues, casino smoke, or slot machines. Just a classy up scale shopping area.
I like just lounging at any of the many outdoor patios Fashion Island has to offer. Every time I go I get a small taste of the good life and my worries seem to melt away. This place has more adults and doesn't have little teenagers with raging hormones running around like the Irvine Spectrum. So, go for a walk with me. Just relax maybe do a little shopping or just enjoy yourself. Little kids, dogs, and all are welcome. See you there! Highly Recommend a must see.

I only stopped by for an a few hours, so did not get the full experience, but even then, I was very impressed with the whole ambience of the mall. I am actually planning to go back this weekend!!

Wonderful outdoor mall in Newport Beach. It is very family friendly, I see a lot of families hanging out on the weekends. It is dog friendly as well.
There is a really nice Koi pond in the center of the mall. Though a lot of stores are higher end, it is still fun to walk around on a nice day.
There are a few restaurants: Roy's, Cheesecake Factory, PF Chang's, R&D Cafe and El Torito Grill.
A very nice, relaxing place to walk around, shop or grab a bite.Recommended for:
