Although it was built 51 years ago, the Firesky Resort and Spa is a hotel that has put effort into remaining fresh, updating itself to fit the needs of its 21st century guests. From the touchscreen information kiosk in the lobby to the parking spaces for electric cars, Firesky is thoroughly high-tech. Firesky is more than just a hotel, it’s a resort – its grounds are beautiful, lush, and well-maintained, giving the feeling of a tropical oasis in the middle of the desert. The resort is dotted with places to sit, relax, and enjoy the beautiful scenery. It provides guests with a full-sized spa, perfect for leaving the worries of everyday life behind. Its rooms are clean, modern, outfitted with large comfortable beds and a huge flatscreen television. Each comes with its own patio (or balcony for the second-story rooms), so you can relax in complete privacy.

If you can find this semi-hidden retreat, you you’re in for a fantastic experience. The oversized, posh seating areas in front of the hotel are only a preview to what awaits inside the lobby. The space is huge and open with tons of light, the tallest two-sided fireplace I’ve ever seen, stocked lobby bar and several eclectic seating areas that scream Palm Springs in the best way possible. The spacious room had a balcony complete with two Adirondack chairs prefect for sipping evening cocktails with your honey. Other things I loved were the dark, hardwood flooring in the entryway of the room, a beach area by one of the pools, the tranquil lagoon, and stone firepits around the property to roast marshmallows from the S’mores kits available at the front desk. The best part for me? Pets are more than welcome at this Kimpton resort and they stay free!Recommended for:
