Decorated in a slightly boutique fashion, there is a nice sense of atmosphere with interesting, non-typical hotel furniture and seats in the hotel lobby. One of the first things you notice is the bright patterned purple carpet and large purple couches in the lobby. The hotel provides free Wi-Fi, which unlike many hotels doesn’t require any special log in or registration and there is a wonderful reading corner with shelves of books and couches for guests to enjoy. There is a gym but no pool, which is surprising in a 5 star hotel. Next door is the Dandelion bar, located downstairs beneath the hotel and is a great bar and nightclub but noise from the music and from people coming and .going could be an issue as it is has a late opening daily. Larger than you'd expect from the exterior, this is a fine hotel in the heart of Dublin

At this stage, it is hard for me to give a hotel with lousy Internet more than 3 stars. To be fair to the Fitzwilliam, the beds are very comfy and the rooms are nice. The service was good. The room was too hot for me and there was no way to adjust the temp. But the Internet, while free, hardly worked. I was dropped every 5 mins, and when I tried to skype, no one on the other end could understand me. Made working nearly impossible. Probably ok if you are here for pleasure, but not a good option if you are here on business.

The Fitzwilliam is the one five-star hotel in Dublin that doesn’t have the need to broadcast the fact that it has five stars. It checks all the boxes you’d expect at the price—including having a Michelin-starred restaurant—but it wouldn’t make you feel out of place if you arrived straight from the airport in jeans and a hoodie. The rooms were standard size but made to seem larger by a neat trick of boxing out a distinct ‘hall’ in the space where you enter the room. The hotel is much larger than you’d expect from its façade, and there’s a large interior courtyard that makes for a nice view from the lower-spec rooms. I especially liked the alcove library by the elevators – a perfect space for quiet reading or a quick nap.

I would say this is one of the best locations in Dublin. Right across the street from St. Stephen's Green, located on a mass transit stop, just down the block from Grafton Street, not too far away from the Dublin Tourism office and some of the most comfortable rooms found anywhere.
What more could a person ask for?
The concierge staff are impeccable and kind. They are the single most helpful people in the hotel (but the rest of the staff truly runs a close second) and know Dublin like the backs of their hands! Staying here will almost guarantee a trouble-free stay.
