Description

One of New York's iconic images, the Flatiron building (so called because of its triangular shape that resembles an old-fashioned flat iron) is literally wedged on the corner of 23rd street, Broadway and 5th Avenue, and adorns many a black and white New York City poster. Constructed in 1902, the elegant Renaissance palazzo style building, designed by Chicago architect Daniel Burnham, was the first skyscraper north of 14th Street.
