An interesting object in the Plaza Naciones Unida in Recoletta. Try to catch it at either sunrise or sunset when it opens and closes.

The Floris Generica is a flower made of steel and aluminum that opens in the morning and closes at night. I don't know what all the excitement is about, but I did stop there and get a picture in front of the "flower."

Floralis Genérica is an interesting sculpture located in the Palermo district of Buenos Aires. Originally, the petals would open and close depending on the hour of the day, but that functionality was disabled a few years ago due to one of the petals having been incorrectly installed.

The Floralis Genérica is a sculpture made of steel and aluminum, located right next to the Universidad de Buenos Aires de Abogacía ‎. Created in the 2002, the original idea was that it should follow the sun, closing its petals in the evening and opening them in the morning, although this mechanism is currently disabled.

This huge sculpture is at walking distance from the apartment. It opens during the day and closes at night.

A place where the tour bus lands. My travel mate and I decided to take a walk here as we both are artists and have a love for design. This was to be an opportunity to see something interesting for us. As we got there a tour bus pulled up and everyone poured out with their cameras. It put me in an awkward moment.

Now the flower is amazing. It is an engineering feat too. It opens during the day and closes at night. If we didn't have to catch a plane we would have stuck around to see what it looks like at night.

I would recommend this only to people who like shiny works of art and don't mind being surrounded by tourists.

Floralis Generica is a very cool steel sculpture of a large flower with six petals. The flower/petals automatically opens at dawn and closes at dusk. You can see the sculpture for free as it is conveniently located in a park.

The Floralis Genérica is a giant kinetic sculpture of a flower that opens in the morning and closes in the evening.

A beautiful park that has a beautifully structured artificial flower as its center piece. I found it a cool balance to find such a massive man made structure that is a sun facing flower in the middle of massive greenery grounds.

Floralis Genérica is a huge flower sculpture made of steel and aluminum located at the Plaza de las Naciones Unidas.

The flower was actually a gift to the city by the Argentine architect Eduardo Catalano.

Its petals move, closing in the evening and opening in the morning, really beautiful.
