Perfect breakfast spot. Stand at the bar, enjoy a coffee and a brioche. Looks touristy but full of locals. A Florentine institution.

    Il Santo Bevitore

    10 reviews

An amazing place for a meal. It's modern and trendy - this place was still packed with locals even at midnight - but for good reason. Candles on the tables, wine bottles on the walls, intimate lighting all set the mood. But the food is authentic - there is a guy carving prosciutto off a hooved leg in the bar ...

    L'Osteria Di Giovanni

    5 reviews

Probably the best meal we had during our trip, a real experience! We were greeted with welcome prosecco and fried dough bits. The service was friendly and attentive. We shared the caprese salad (ruined for life!) and since we're light-eaters decided on two different pastas, a potato ravioli with mushrooms and a tortellini with basil, tomato and ricotta. The house ...

    Gelateria La Carraia

A broader range of flavors than other spots but the gelato itself didn't quite live up to others -- a little less creamy and a slightly artificial flavoring. It is gelato so it still tastes great but not quite as special as other spots in Florence.

    Ristorante Il Latini

I was here 6 years ago many times when I studied a semester in Firenze, and this is what I remember: (the chef selection) never-ending plates of food, glasses of wine... one after another... you want pasta? Il Latini will give you an assortment of hand-made pastas, one better than the next. You want meat? Il Latini will keep you ...

    Caffè Cibreo

    8 reviews

Gorgeous little cafe in Santa Croce. The outdoor seating doesn't get the best views but the inside is stunning. Old school lovely with good coffee and desserts. One of the few cafes in Florence where you might be tempted to waste the day.

    Ciro & Sons - Antica Pizzeria dell'Arte

    3 reviews

I was so excited when I found Ciro and Sons, which has a pretty extensive gluten-free menu. They have gluten-free pastas, gluten-free bruschetta, gluten-free pizza crust (freshly made in restaurant), and even gluten-free dessert crepes. I was wanting pizza, but I was informed that you have to reserve your seats a few hours in advance if ordering gluten-free pizza, as ...

    Borgo Antico

    3 reviews

Exceptionally good pizza that is off the beaten path. The Borgo is exceptional -- basically a caprese salad on a pizza crust. Delicious.

    Buca Lapi

Unbelievable! Best food we had in Florence by a long shot. This place was recommended by an Italian friend and did not disappoint. We had the hand made pasta with fresh fennel sausage (so good I almost wept) and the bisteak Florentine, which weighted nearly a pound, was beautifully prepared and delicious. Service was great, wine was great. We were ...

    All'Antico Vinaio

    7 reviews

Amazing little wine bar and deli. Tables on the street, a deli where they make sandwiches fresh from fresh bread and mouthwatering cheeses and dried meats they carve as you watch. Selve serve bruschettas of all kinds - truffles, sheep cheese, spicy peppers and meat. A massive selection of wines, all reasonably priced. This place is always packed, and when ...
