    Il Santo Bevitore

Via di Santo Spirito, 64-red, 50125 Florence, Italy

Wondeful wonderful wonderful. Yes, there are touristas but they have been well filtered and this place is extremely popular with locals. Reserve in advance. Il Santo next door is a wonderful pre-dinner option.

    Trattoria dei Quattro Leoni

Via dei Vellutini, 1r, Florence 50125 Italy

For Exqusite, Authentic Florence food, you gotta pass by Trattoria dei Quattro Leoni. I've had the best meals and yummy desserts here during my stay here in Venice, and thanks to my friend Nathalie who studies in the area for recommending and reserving for us in this lovely restaurant.

    Caffè Cibreo

Via Andrea del Verrocchio, 5-red, 50122 Florence, Italy
    8 reviews

Gorgeous little cafe in Santa Croce. The outdoor seating doesn't get the best views but the inside is stunning. Old school lovely with good coffee and desserts. One of the few cafes in Florence where you might be tempted to waste the day.

Io - Osteria Personale di Matteo Fantini

Borgo San Frediano, 167/r, Florence, Italy
    1 review

You won't find a drop of red sauce at this charming modern Italian spot but what you will find is delicious inventions made with local ingredients and served with impeccable presentation. The tempura zucchini flowers stuffed with mozarella and served with tomato sorbet were exceptional. I couldn't help but feel a little sad when I had my last bite of ...

    Buca Lapi

Via del Trebbio, 1r, Florence 50123 Italy

Unbelievable! Best food we had in Florence by a long shot. This place was recommended by an Italian friend and did not disappoint. We had the hand made pasta with fresh fennel sausage (so good I almost wept) and the bisteak Florentine, which weighted nearly a pound, was beautifully prepared and delicious. Service was great, wine was great. We were ...

Cute cafe and friendly staff. I was never too impressed with the food but the espresso is decent and the location is great.

Gelateria Dei Neri Di Vivoli Maurizio

Via dei Neri, 22, 50122 Florence, Italy

According to many, this is the best gelateria in Florence. Whether or not that's true doesn't detract from the fact that it's centrally located near the Piazza Santa Croce (beware: there is another gelateria here that is terrible). It may take some searching for Vivoli, but stick to it! It'll be worth it!

    Via del Campanile, Florence, Italy

Do yourself a favor and stop by Grom for a crazy good gelato! Their coconut with chocolate chips is something dreams are made of. The vanilla is also one of my favorites here, very simple with a natural, strong vanilla flavor. If you love espresso, get the coffee gelato. You can taste the quality and fresh ingredients here. There will ...

Really great Italian food but make a reservation. It is a great place to take family when they visit. The meat is delicious.

    Via Faenza 95, Florence, Italy
    6 reviews

We went here without a reservation. It is on a street with a lot of small traditional looking restaurants not too far from San Lorenzo cathedral. It has a fairly traditional Tuscan menu with lots of selections. The interior decor makes it look rather like an antique store, full of ceramic knick knacks and curiosities such as the old newspaper ...

    Ristorante Il Latini

    Via dei Palchetti, 6

I was here 6 years ago many times when I studied a semester in Firenze, and this is what I remember: (the chef selection) never-ending plates of food, glasses of wine... one after another... you want pasta? Il Latini will give you an assortment of hand-made pastas, one better than the next. You want meat? Il Latini will keep you ...

    All'Antico Vinaio

Via dei Neri, 65, Florence, 50122 Italy
    6 reviews

Amazing little wine bar and deli. Tables on the street, a deli where they make sandwiches fresh from fresh bread and mouthwatering cheeses and dried meats they carve as you watch. Selve serve bruschettas of all kinds - truffles, sheep cheese, spicy peppers and meat. A massive selection of wines, all reasonably priced. This place is always packed, and when ...

    Gelateria La Carraia

Piazza Nazario Sauro 25/r, 50124 Florence, Italy

A broader range of flavors than other spots but the gelato itself didn't quite live up to others -- a little less creamy and a slightly artificial flavoring. It is gelato so it still tastes great but not quite as special as other spots in Florence.

    Osteria del Cinghiale Bianco

43 Borgo San Jacopo, Florence 50125 Italy
    7 reviews

This is one of my favorites in Florence - lots of locals. Amazing setting in the base of a 12th century tower. Great pastas (tagliarini is homemade and incredible) and several tasty dishes of wild boar.

    L'Osteria Di Giovanni

Via del Moro 22, 50123 Florence, Italy
    5 reviews

Probably the best meal we had during our trip, a real experience! We were greeted with welcome prosecco and fried dough bits. The service was friendly and attentive. We shared the caprese salad (ruined for life!) and since we're light-eaters decided on two different pastas, a potato ravioli with mushrooms and a tortellini with basil, tomato and ricotta. The house ...

    Trattoria Mario

Via Rosina, 2, 50123 Florence, Italy
    5 reviews

Went in with few expectations, left with a full stomach full of smiles. This is a family place and it feels like a Ragu commercial. Staff is friendly and can probably make any smile. Food is awesome, there's no fancy presentation - but who cares!
