The quality of food is really good here and the atmosphere is intimate. Get the octopus for sure. They have a good selection of wine.

    Ristorante Il Latini

    Via dei Palchetti, 6

The food here is incredible. You must taste the olive oil. There is a room in the wine cellar that is very cool for big parties. Wine bottles are scattered all over.

Amazing little wine bar and deli. Tables on the street, a deli where they make sandwiches fresh from fresh bread and mouthwatering cheeses and dried meats they carve as you watch. Selve serve bruschettas of all kinds - truffles, sheep cheese, spicy peppers and meat. A massive selection of wines, all reasonably priced. This place is always packed, and when ...

    Trattoria dei Quattro Leoni

Via dei Vellutini, 1r, Florence 50125 Italy

Top 3 meals I had in Italy. The homemade pastas are all delicious (group of 5 girls, so we tried a few). I also recommend the bone in steak.

Gorgeous little cafe in Santa Croce. The outdoor seating doesn't get the best views but the inside is stunning. Old school lovely with good coffee and desserts. One of the few cafes in Florence where you might be tempted to waste the day.

Gelateria Dei Neri Di Vivoli Maurizio

Via dei Neri, 22, 50122 Florence, Italy

According to many, this is the best gelateria in Florence. Whether or not that's true doesn't detract from the fact that it's centrally located near the Piazza Santa Croce (beware: there is another gelateria here that is terrible). It may take some searching for Vivoli, but stick to it! It'll be worth it!

    Gelateria La Carraia

Piazza Nazario Sauro 25/r, 50124 Florence, Italy

Really amazing gelato in a variety of flavors! Just a quick jaunt over the bridge and yummy, gelato heaven is all yours! Favorites were ricotta and pear as well as the special lemon cookie (Frollino al Limone). You can queue up or be Italian and shove your way to the front.

    Nerone

    Via Faenza 95, Florence, Italy

We went here without a reservation. It is on a street with a lot of small traditional looking restaurants not too far from San Lorenzo cathedral. It has a fairly traditional Tuscan menu with lots of selections. The interior decor makes it look rather like an antique store, full of ceramic knick knacks and curiosities such as the old newspaper ...

This is one of my favorites in Florence - lots of locals. Amazing setting in the base of a 12th century tower. Great pastas (tagliarini is homemade and incredible) and several tasty dishes of wild boar.

    Buca Lapi

Via del Trebbio, 1r, Florence 50123 Italy

It is located in the old winery of Antinori building. The environment is unique. Walls are covered with billboards of 60s. Menu is of typical Tuscany . Wines are something great, including Antinori best products, such as Solaia and Tignanello.

Probably the best meal we had during our trip, a real experience! We were greeted with welcome prosecco and fried dough bits. The service was friendly and attentive. We shared the caprese salad (ruined for life!) and since we're light-eaters decided on two different pastas, a potato ravioli with mushrooms and a tortellini with basil, tomato and ricotta. The house ...

Went in with few expectations, left with a full stomach full of smiles. This is a family place and it feels like a Ragu commercial. Staff is friendly and can probably make any smile. Food is awesome, there's no fancy presentation - but who cares!

Extremely popular with American study abroad student. Mainly because the restaurant gives out free pitchers of wine. However the food is still good and the management is friendly. Don't drink too much limencello though!!
