    Il Santo Bevitore

    10 reviews

An amazing place for a meal. It's modern and trendy - this place was still packed with locals even at midnight - but for good reason. Candles on the tables, wine bottles on the walls, intimate lighting all set the mood. But the food is authentic - there is a guy carving prosciutto off a hooved leg in the bar ...

    Acqua al 2

Really great Italian food but make a reservation. It is a great place to take family when they visit. The meat is delicious.

    Gelateria Santa Trinita

I have to admit I have tried my fair share of gelato during my time in Italy but this place would have to be my favorite primarily for the unique selection of flavors! I had a cone made of a mix of two flavors: black sesame and mascarpone cream. Incredible!

    Antica Gelateria Fiorentina

One Euro gelato cones! And really delicious gelato at that. I've tried several gelaterias since arriving and this was hands down the best deal!

    Grom

Do yourself a favor and stop by Grom for a crazy good gelato! Their coconut with chocolate chips is something dreams are made of. The vanilla is also one of my favorites here, very simple with a natural, strong vanilla flavor. If you love espresso, get the coffee gelato. You can taste the quality and fresh ingredients here. There will ...

The atmosphere was quite lovely! This restaurant is very large and quite popular. The food was good and the service okay but my experience was not outstanding.

Io - Osteria Personale di Matteo Fantini

    2 reviews

You won't find a drop of red sauce at this charming modern Italian spot but what you will find is delicious inventions made with local ingredients and served with impeccable presentation. The tempura zucchini flowers stuffed with mozarella and served with tomato sorbet were exceptional. I couldn't help but feel a little sad when I had my last bite of ...

    Gilli

Gilli is a famous restaurant/cafe located in Piazza della Repubblica. It's a bit on the pricey side, due to its history and touristy location, but the food is delicious.

Gelateria Dei Neri Di Vivoli Maurizio

According to many, this is the best gelateria in Florence. Whether or not that's true doesn't detract from the fact that it's centrally located near the Piazza Santa Croce (beware: there is another gelateria here that is terrible). It may take some searching for Vivoli, but stick to it! It'll be worth it!

    Nerone

    6 reviews

Candles on the table, tasty wood fired pizza, really reasonable prices. We had a great lunch here. The place is big but doesn't feel big as its divided into a number of different rooms - all with high ceilings and exposed brick walls. It was full when we went and we were the only non-italians there. Service was fast and ...

    Ristorante Il Latini

The food here is incredible. You must taste the olive oil. There is a room in the wine cellar that is very cool for big parties. Wine bottles are scattered all over.

    Caffè Cibreo

    8 reviews

Gorgeous little cafe in Santa Croce. The outdoor seating doesn't get the best views but the inside is stunning. Old school lovely with good coffee and desserts. One of the few cafes in Florence where you might be tempted to waste the day.

    All'Antico Vinaio

Amazing little wine bar and deli. Tables on the street, a deli where they make sandwiches fresh from fresh bread and mouthwatering cheeses and dried meats they carve as you watch. Selve serve bruschettas of all kinds - truffles, sheep cheese, spicy peppers and meat. A massive selection of wines, all reasonably priced. This place is always packed, and when ...

    Gelateria La Carraia

Really amazing gelato in a variety of flavors! Just a quick jaunt over the bridge and yummy, gelato heaven is all yours! Favorites were ricotta and pear as well as the special lemon cookie (Frollino al Limone). You can queue up or be Italian and shove your way to the front.

    L'Osteria Di Giovanni

    5 reviews

Really tasty Tuscan food. Not a super romantic place (the lights were bright and there was no music) but the food was tasty. I had a ravioli with mushrooms and truffles - yum! Ingrid had a seafood linguini that was also very tasty.
