My husband and I stopped by this bike shop and bike rental shop, not far from the Accademia, and Michelangelo's David. The store was packed with seductive Italian bikes and cycling gear. We got some shorts, jackets, and shirts on sale. If you cycle, this place is great fun. Colnago, Castelli and more, for less than in the USA, and a great selection.

Favorite travel memory ever, by far. When I studied abroad here in college, my roommate asked if I wanted go on a "winery biking tour with her" and I assumed it would be a leisurely ride through Tuscany and I would come back with a nice buzz. Well, I was a completely wrong, but it actually exceeded my expectations. It was a rigorous 7 mile up-hill ride through the rolling hills of Tuscany, until we finally reached a privately owned family winery. The family took us through their vineyard, let us taste from their barrell, then treated us to an absolutely outstanding and authentic lunch with olive oil made straight from their olive trees and artichoke spread straight from their artichoke plants. The ride home was much easier and overall, this was an experience I will never forget. Do your research though, as some tours are more advanced than others.
