Folk Art Park

Ralph McGill Blvd NE & Courtland St. NE
1 review

The Folk Art Park and its sculptures were erected as part of the city's overhaul for the 1996 Olympics. The park includes large-scale installations, murals and colorful life-size sculptures. In recent years, the city has been making a push to raise money to renovate the park and update the artists works.

Gordon Biersch Brewery Restaurant - Midtown

0.96 mi from Folk Art Park
    1 review

Gordon Biersch is another popular restaurant/brewery in the Midtown area. The place is fairly large, so it's ideal for large crowds. Plus, they have a pool hall upstairs. The beer selection is also good and the pub food serves all-American food such as burgers and fries.

I watched a live performance of a "Midsummer Night's Dream," and thought the actors did an excellent job. The stage is small and is encircled by tables. Audience members are able to get an intimate view of the stage and enjoy a English style dinner before the play begins. Their shepherd's pie is very good.

    Think Sushi

0.62 mi from Folk Art Park

You know, I was really enjoying my sushi at Think Sushi - it was delicious, and it's made to order so you can have them add whatever you want - until there was suddenly a bug on my table. That was definitely not cool. Granted, it could have flown in from outside, I didn't see (the place did seem clean) ...

Baraka Shawarma serves an excellent assortment of shawarmas. Although their chicken shawarma is one of their most popular dishes, I personally loved their baked tilapia shawarma.

When we arrived we were told there was a 30 minute wait for a table, however we were seated in less than 15 minutes and even though the restaurant was very busy we only waited 5 minutes or so for our food. The food is delicious, and the portions are quite big so don't be surprised if you don't eat ...

    Cafe Intermezzo

2.92 mi from Folk Art Park

I adore Cafe Intermezzo! The atmosphere is rich and romantic and anything you order will be spectacular. Except dessert. That will be insane. But my personal favorites are some of the coffee offerings tucked into their novel of a beverage menu. I rarely order the same thing twice, and I'm yet to be disappointed. It's perfect for a late-night date ...

One of the original celebrity chefs in Atlanta, Kevin Rathbun really is a master in combining rich ingredients in a delicate way. Roasted pork belly tacos are not to be missed. Scallops are super. Service is great. Funky setting. Definitely make a reservation.

    Restaurant Eugene

3.62 mi from Folk Art Park
    6 reviews

Perfect for a special occasion, Restaurant Eugene serves the type of innovative cuisine not often associated with Southern cities like Atlanta. In fact, the award-winning restaurant is entirely entrenched in its location. Ingredients are sourced from local farms, dishes rotated out to reflect what's in season. I went there to celebrate my college graduation and every course was spot on. ...

I dig Holy Taco. It's a favorite tacqueria in the East Atlanta Village. I had a fish taco and churizo taco and thought both tasted delish. The prices are cheap and most notably, are their selection of hot sauces on each table. Are you a Cholua fan? You're in luck. Do you prefer to green sauce? Holy Taco has you ...

Your morning egg ’n cheese gets a serious upgrade courtesy of The Big Nasty at chef Ron Eyester’s comfort food café, one of America’s best brunch spots. Crispy, juicy fried chicken is piled high with scrambled eggs, smoked bacon, and Tillamook cheddar for a decadent hangover cure that’s barely contained by its buttery hamburger bun.

    SweetWater Brewing Company

3.05 mi from Folk Art Park

Sweetwater knows their stuff. Most of the beers there are mega-delish. They finally opened the top room (but sometimes they keep it closed) and they are quickly expanding. Lost of beer events happen here too! Dog friendly. One thing: too many bros. Leave your visors at home.

Nothing says Atlanta weekends quite like a summer time brunch on Murphy's outdoor patio. The restaurant's Virginia Highlands location gives it a vibe of being hip and trendy while the food simply speaks for itself.
