Forsyth Park is one of the biggest and loveliest parks in Savannah. It's marked by a pretty fountain with paths strutting out towards the rest of the park. It's a great place to sit in a nearby bench to contemplate or go for a scenic run.

Forsyth is one of America's great city parks. With an expansive, well manicured lawn, tree lined walks and impressive fountains, it is one of the highlights of any trip to Savannah. The main entrance to the park is located on Gaston Street and lines up perfectly with Bull Street. Straight ahead is a walkway lined with benches leading toward the main fountain. The fountain is a copy of an identical fixture in Paris. In the center of the park you can see the Confederate Civil War Memorial, which honors the Civil War dead from Georgia. The streets surrounding the park are lined with many fine old mansions.

Just two blocks from McMillan Inn, a great place to enjoy a picnic lunch, you can bring your own or go to the Forsyth park Café, operated by the Mansion on Forsyth Hotel, boasting great sandwiches as well as Starbucks coffee.
Many times there are concerts in the Park, Jazz, Symphonies, Popular events.
Forsyth park perimeter is 1 mile around for the running and walking enthusiast.
The beautiful Parisian fountain in the middle is a great place for that special photo.

Picture perfect park in the historic district of Savannah. Enjoyed my scenic strolls across the park they even do Zumba free of charge in the bandstand area on Saturdays! It is also the setting for many a festival. Savannah for those in the know is the Festival City!
