2nd cousin to Miami, and straight North on A1A, Ft Lauderdale is a good place to take a break on the beach and enjoy the Sun.

Grew up by port everglades and loved every minute of it. Great place to live, probably even better to visit (during the winter) because the summer gets a little too hot for some.

I prefer Fort Lauderdale to flying into Miami. The beaches ar white sand.=, not as crowded and there is a laid back vibe that I appreciate.

Fort Lauderdale is everything Florida has to offer. Venetian like canals, great shopping and food options and lots of yachts.

I've only been to Fort Lauderdale to wait for a cruise ship to embarque. It seems like the normal Florida town with sprawl, beaches, and great weather.

Lovely city. Good Hotels great beaches. Good night life activities. I love the beach and the restaurants and hotels along the beach makes a getaway here perfect. just rest swim and soak the sun. Walk shop if you like and most important every needed amenities are within walking distance of the hotels.

The first time I came to Fort Lauderdale I decided that one day, I would live here. Although I lived several thousand miles away, I made this my home town nine years later. I don't want to live anywhere else!

Fort Lauderdale is where I met my husband. We live in Hollywood FL and have been all over Ft. Lauderdale. It is a nice place to visit.

I lived in Lauderdale so I didn't have time for all the fun thing's. But the beaches on the east side of FL. are ugly compared to the west side and the Gulf of Mexico.

Fort Lauderdale is a great city to grow up in. The bar scene on the beach and on las olas is pretty overwhelming on the weekends, but you get to meet a lot of great people.

I haven't spent time in Ft. Lauderdale since I was a kid growing up in Atlanta. We went to visit friends and they had their own swimming pool which was living large to an eight year old. Jeanenne Tornatore of Orbitz says that Fort Lauderdale is the #4 Spring Break destination for 2012. It has great beaches, a vibrant nightlife and opportunities to shop at trendy boutiques.

Ft. Lauderdale is a nice place to take a reasonably priced vacation on the beach. The streets are lined with tourist trap souvenir shops.

Find Hotels in Fort Lauderdale:

Description

It would seem difficult to reconcile Fort Lauderdale’s moniker 'The Venice of America' with its reputation for drunken adolescent partying. After all, what does one of the most picturesque cities in the United States have to do with teenage debauchery? Fort Lauderdale is no longer primarily the spring break haven it once was. A stunningly picturesque conglomeration of waterways caters to a more upscale, European crowd with gourmet restaurants, high-end hotels and eclectic boutiques. Day cruises to the Bahamas, fun nightlife on the strip, a thriving gay and lesbian community in Wilton Manors, snorkeling, diving, biking, baseball and football games (the Miami Dolphins and Florida Marlins play just 17 miles out of town) are just some of the ways you can entertain yourself...that is, if you can tear yourself away from the miles of beautiful, sandy beach.
