Four Barrel is one of a small handful of beloved San Francisco coffeehouses and roasters. The skilled staff create some great, no-frills coffee drinks. But while the interior is spacious, finding seating can often be a task. Thankfully, they recently introduced outdoor seating which is wonderful for the warmer days. If you're a cyclist, you'll love this new addition. A giant rack outside gives you a safe place to lock your rad ride.
I drink my coffee black—in the form of an Americano—and I would have to say that the coffee here is definitely flavorful. There have been times, however, when I felt it was a bit too acidic for my tastes. Other times, I don't feel this effect.

A hidden gem on maiden lane in the financial district. I think its very good quality coffee, but not as good as Philz. I come here when i cant get philz but its still very good!Recommended for:Foodies

Delicious coffee! I've had 4B coffee served by another cafe, so I'm glad to find a 4B near where my friend and I were waiting to be seated for brunch. I loved the latte!
Great place to study and get some work done. There's some seats outside too for beautiful days in SF.
They roast their coffee beans in-house! Check it out inside! Pretty neat!

Four Barrel features sustainably sourced, organic, lovingly roasted coffee brewed one cup at a time in a warm, modern cafe atmosphere in the Mission. Definitely some of the best coffee in San Francisco, and a great atmosphere for a business meeting or casual meet-up with friends.

The ultimate San Francisco coffee shop. There are two coffee bars. The first is a traditional one where you get a cappuccino or whatever other concoction you may desire, along with pastries and what not. The second is a drip coffee bar, featuring a handful of coffee beans to choose from. Ask questions, smell the freshly roasted beans and take it all in before you get the cup of your choice. The baristas are really friendly as well. I got all kinds of recommendations about where to eat around town.

I wanted to give Four Barrel Five Stars but they only have Whole Milk and ummm well... how do you make a NON FAT latte with Whole Milk?!?!?! Answer: You Don't! My latte was still delicious - I sucked it up and had whole milk since we had waited to try this place. I may go with espresso or drip coffee next time to save myself the caloric intake of whole milk but this place is damn good stuff! Love the interior - didn't notice it being trendy or hipster - just a good mix of everyone. The scones are really good! My son had a butter croissant and enjoyed it just fine. Awesome spot to grab a cup of joe! The slow bar line was a whole lot shorter than the main line. Bathroom smelled like a bathroom :( but was decked out almost as fun as the rest of the place.
