I booked this hotel because it was relatively cheap and I booked the hotel for Montevideo Carnival. I made a pretty last minute trip and they had availability so this hotel probably doesnt get that full. The hotel is an excellent location- walking distance to the main street in Montevideo. The Four Points is currently one of the nicer hotel options in the area, but they dont seem to get a ton of tourists in general. The hotel is very basic and simple and definitely looks like a budget hotel. The lobby is kind of dull with minimal decor and pretty quiet. I was upgraded to a suite, but it wasnt anything special. The room was quite large, but honestly it was unnecessarily large for my needs. The staff was not that knowledgable and had limited recommendations they could offer. I didnt really rely on them for anything other than ordering me a cab to take me to the bus station. You will definitely have your western comforts with this hotel, but it isnt anything that grand.
