You’ll find this chic, elegant guest house in a tranquil street in the pretty residential neighbourhood of Oranjezicht, on the slopes of Table Mountain. The main building, dating from 1903 and a listed monument, is classically decorated with South African art and has 8 tasteful rooms, with spacious and modern en-suite bathrooms. There are upstairs rooms offering great views of Cape Town, or there is a slightly bigger and separate downstairs suite, complete with its own living room and fireplace, opening up onto the landscaped garden. Guests can enjoy breakfast on the big, sunny terrace overlooking the outdoor pool, and relax in the pamper room, where with just 24-hours’ notice a masseuse can be organised to pummel away your stress. This is a great option for those wanting to stay in a quiet, leafy area of the city, yet be in close walking distance to the action in Kloof Street.
