Note: This hotel was officially rebranded Hotel Chinzanso Tokyo Walking through the garden entrance is so lush, green, and serene that it’s almost impossible to believe that you’re still in the Tokyo metropolitan area. The traditional Japanese garden makes it difficult to believe that this is modern Tokyo. Almost – a few other skyscrapers in the area are still somewhat ...

Its not the tallest in Tokyo anymore, but still fun to check out. Great views of the city and on a clear day you can see all the way to Mount Fuji. If you have 1 hour to spend, and like seeing the view of the city, check it out. Otherwise you're not missing much

Tsukiji Fish Market is the largest fish market in Asia, or maybe even the world. While its main function is to supply most of the seafood consumed in Tokyo (and that’s a lot!) through wholesale shops, it’s an amazing place to visit for anyone interested in exploring markets while traveling. The main attraction, in my opinion, is the tuna auction. ...

Boasting the largest collection of every electronic gadget imaginable and with many stores employing staff able to converse/sell in 5-20 different languages - wow! I found it jammed, overwhelming and ended up buying nothing. Seemed like a serious place for duty free purchases if you knew what you wanted. Else, confusion reigns easily here.

The Ginza is the most famos shopping district in Japan. Back in the pre-bubble bursting days of the 1980's in Japan, a square foot of real estate on the Ginza was the most expensive real estate of any city on earth. It's bright neon lights are like Las Vegas meets Times Square. There are a multitude of shops, both fine ...

Shopper's dream destination. So many places to shop at here, mostly on the higher-end range. As Americans, though, it's difficult to shop here, as even the largest sizes are like extra small to those from the States.

Meiji Shrine (Meiji Jingū) is a shrine dedicated to the deified spirits of 19th century Emperor Meiji and his consort, Empress Shoken. The Meiji Shrine and the adjacent Yoyogi Park make up a large forested area within the densely built-up city. The spacious shrine grounds offer walking paths that are great for a relaxing stroll. Ueno Park is a large park with a great variety of attractions. It's the location for many museums: the Tokyo National Museum, the National Museum for Western Art, the Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum and the National Science Museum. It is also home to Ueno Zoo, Japan's first zoological garden. Just walking in the park on a pleasant day is worthwhile.

This massive complex accommodates 55,000+ people in a climate controlled environment. Rain or shine, a great place for a baseball game though a bit impersonal for a concert or other live performance. Concession prices are incredibly reasonsable and so are game ticket prices. Jingumae stadium is more intimate but Tokyo Dome is still great fun.
