Upon entering the lobby, I wasn’t quite sure what to make of this hotel. I thought that the artwork for sale in the lobby was tacky, until I found out about that it’s part of their unique artist in residence program. Every weekend, a local artist is invited to set up a temporary 'workshop' in the lobby so that guests can watch the artist in action. The pieces are then displayed in the lobby, and are available for purchase. I think it's classy that the hotel doesn’t take a commission—it’s just what they do to support the local art scene!
As for the guestrooms, they were well-appointed, but nothing particularly memorable as the decor felt traditional. What makes this property stand out, however, was the indoor/outdoor pool and large terrace, complete with fountains and trees. I know some people love a pool by the water, but I think there’s something special about having a nighttime dip and looking up to see that you’re surrounded by skyscrapers and city lights!
It’s also worth noting that Yew Restaurant + Bar is one of the city’s top three seafood restaurants. But even if you’re not into seafood, you might appreciate their Wine Down Sundays when all 300+ bottles of wine are half price.Recommended for:

I really, really like the Four Seasons. Even though it's not the most modern hotel in the city, it's the little things that make this luxury hotel one of my favourites in Vancouver.
Guests do have to ascend up an escalator to get in to the main lobby area but once inside, I find myself completely happy. Whether it's the entry hallways into some rooms, a City-view that is actually beautiful, the city's only indoor-outdoor hotel swimming pool, or the 3 flavoured waters set out for patrons of the fitness club, I just feel that the folks at the Four Seasons are looking out for my positive disposition.
I don't have much else to say than, for a hotel that is smack-dab in the middle of downtown, it has the luxury inside and gorgeous views outside afforded by either its height or proximity to culturally-significant but lower buildings such as the law courts or the art gallery, that make it worth the average room rate of $295 per night.Recommended for:

I haven't been in quite a few years, but I remember loving the view from our suite! Wonderful customer service and centrally located; if I can ever afford it again, I'll definitely be back!
