The stretch of Istanbul between Kabatas and Ortakoy is the preserve of palaces. Dolmabahce Palace, where the last Sultans and even Ataturk lived, is one such palace. The Four Seasons Bosphorus is another. Flaming torches out front proclaim your arrival in this den of luxury. You enjoy the usual amenities of a Four Seasons Hotel here--sumptuous rooms, spa, swimming pool and fine dining--but with unique Turkish touches. You can enjoy a massage in the hamam or watch the cruise ships and tankers glide up and down the strait.

Stayed here on a weekend trip to Istanbul. Utter luxury and a fantastic view over the Bosphorus. For hammam newbies, the treatments here, in single sex parts of the spa, are a great initiation and they use luxurious products. Don't miss the breakfast buffet either, with clotted cream and honey, cheeses and fresh flat breads.
