    Basilique du Sacre-Coeur

    Rue du Chevalier-de-la-Barre 35, Paris 75018 France
    317 reviews

It does provide a pretty great view of Paris. Plus, it's free. I always believe in looking for the greatest "overlook" in every city, and this one makes a good case for Paris's. I didn't go into the Basilique, but if that's something you're interested in, by all means. Beware of pickpocket-ers in touristy areas like these!

    Eiffel Tower

5 avenue Anatole France, Paris 75007 France
    1492 reviews

Yep, ya gotta visit. I was lucky to come 5 minutes before 7pm (I think), and right on the hour, the Eiffel Tower lights up and does a little light show. It sparkles like diamonds. I'm not sure of the time it does this anymore, but you'd be safe going on the hour after dark (try 8 pm?). I didn't ...

    Notre Dame Cathedral

    6 Parvis Notre-Dame, Paris 75004 France
    573 reviews

IMPORTANT... DO NOT be scared away by the long lines (like I was originally)! Not only do they move SUPER FAST but it is also free to enter! The experience was much better than anticipated for one of the world's most famous landmarks. They even do free tours throughout the day in different languages. Definitely worth seeing and going into! ...

They have all kinds of food from around the world so no matter what kind of mood you are in something is sure ...

    Paris, France
    18 reviews

Kind of the Greenwich Village of Paris. Upmarket bohemian with lots of artsy types that live on independent incomes. This is the real Paris, though it takes a while to get to know the neighbourhood.

    Canal St-Martin

    Rue Lafayette, Paris 75010 France
    26 reviews

For a very laid-back picnic spot I recommend Canal Saint-Martin. Starting at metro République level and moving northwards, you will cross many cafés and take-away lunch spots, at least one person playing acoustic guitar and Jardin Villemin (for those who prefer a grassy enclosed area that is safer for kids). Further along, the Canal turns into Bassin de la Villette. ...

    Cathedrale Orthodoxe Russe St-Nicolas

    Avenue Nicolas-II, Nice 06000 France
    6 reviews

True to its name, this church resembles Red Square's St. Basil's more than anything else. Besides being a great place to escape the heat of a summer's day, the interior is breathtaking and unlike any other place of worship in Nice.

This was once an old train station and now it's been converted to house the most spectacular impressionist and post-impressionist art of the 19th and early 20th century. The museum is airy, beautiful and an absolute pleasure to wander through.

    Hôtel de Ville

    4 Place de l'Hôtel-de-Ville, Paris 75004, France

Hôtel de Ville is the Parisian City Hall. You can't visit inside, but it's one of the most beautiful buildings in Paris and there is always something going on outside - ice skating, carrousels, concerts, etc. Right beside the Hôtel de Ville is one of the most traditional Parisian department stores - BHV, worth the visit as well.

Musee National des Arts asiatiques Guimet

    6 Place d'Iena, Paris 75116 France
    4 reviews

If you enjoy Asian art, Guimet is an enjoyable museum. The collection is not excessive, although some may find it small. I find, as someone not so well versed in this type of art, it was perfectly manageable and a great introduction.
