This simply stunning five star boutique hotel offers up a variety of options for families, solo business travellers and style mavens who like their surroundings opulent and decadently luxurious.
For the more practical at heart, the appeal of the Fraser Suites lies in its little in-room kitchenettes which are well-stocked with day to day necessities like cutlery, crockery and corkscrews. Some have dishwashers whilst others have cookers and all have microwaves. There's even a communal launderette with American-sized top loaders and dryers. You can cook alone or have one of the chefs do the cooking for you.
Some of the suites have the option of closing off the bedroom area from the sitting area which is convenient for business travellers.
Immaculate inside and out, there's commissioned artwork on the walls from students at the Edinburgh College of Art. Although they tell me these works are not for sale.
The Observatory and The Princes Suite are my two favourite suites. The Princes Street for its views and breathtaking opulence and The Observatory for its private balcony and majestic interior. All in all, there's a total of 75 rooms and suites to choose from. The location couldn't be better, just off the Royal Mile and minutes from Edinburgh Castle. The building which houses the Fraser Suites dates back to the 1800's when it was home to some of Scotland's most influential newspapers.
So there you have it! A magical mix of history, luxury and personalised service which all add up to making this place one of my favourite hotels in Edinburgh.
- Fraser Suites EdinburghFirst to ReviewJul 05, 2012
Last year i had a 2 night stay at Fraser Suites Edinburgh. The hotel is in an excellent location just off of the Royal Mile
The rooms were a little disappointing and a bit small, although they were clean and well furnished.
The hotel was very hard to find with no adequate parking nearby we had to park a good 10 minute walk away.
Staff were helpful and friendly.
The breakfast menu left a lot to be desired, very poor quality and pasty looking sausages and raw egg that had not been cooked properly, not a great selection, we had our breakfast elsewhere on the 2nd day
