This locals' bar is off the Strip, near the UNLV campus, tucked in a mini-mall behind reflective glass. You can't even see anything before you walk inside. But don't let that stop you. Inside you're going to find one of the best-stocked microbrew refrigerator cases in Vegas. Be nice to the bartender, and he might give you a behind-the-scenes tour. The upstairs Whiskey Attic is just as impressive. Good place to catch live jazz sometimes, too. Check their Facebook page for upcoming shows.

If you've got a car (and a designated driver) head off The Strip to the Freakin' Frog, near the UNLV campus. This bar claims to be the "largest beer bar in America," with over 1,000 types to choose from, including microbrews and an international selection.

Ok, they have how many beers on tap? Not to mention the encyclopedia size notebook they have listing all the beers they have in bottles from around the world. For a real thrill try the Lucifer Burger, a burger drenched in hot sauce and a onion slice so think it will bring tears to your eyes, you will most assuredly need a beer to put out the fire. Live it up, you are in Las Vegas for cryin’ out loud!
