There are several bridges over the river that runs between the east and west sides of the city. The Fremont Bridge is the furthest north of all the bridges near to the center of the city.Recommended for:Local Culture

A steel tied-arch bridge crossing over the Willamette River. It was built in 1973 and is said to currently be the second longest tied-arch bridge in the world (after the Caiyuanba Bridge along the Yangtze River.) This bridge seems to carry a lot of traffic in and out of downtown Portland.
