If you make your way to dirty ol' downtown Las Vegas to check out the zany light-and-sound show called the Fremont Street Experience, then you've got to take this zipline down the canopy that arches of the street. You can fly right by all the casino neon while the drunken crowds gawk from below. After dark it's a bit more expensive ($15, as opposed to $10 during the day), but totally more fun.Recommended for:

Fremont Street is in the old town/strip of Las Vegas. Most of these are the casinos the locals would go to. Fremont Street Experience was put in mid-90's, now covering the walkway between the casinos. The light show is fun to watch. Kids will LOVE to see this!Recommended for:

I think it's worth the trip from the Strip to see this epic neon display, but I'm also the only person who lives in New York who intentionally walks through Times Square... I'm not sure my friends agreed that it was worth going out of their way.

This was the stretch of casinos I used to love in Vegas: gaudy, kitsch and some iconic design from the 1950s thru 1970s. However the development of the Strip in the 1990s and with it those monstrous resort casinos meant Lady Luck packed up and moved away from old Downtown and the bums moved in. In an attempt to revive its fortunes a canopy was built over the street and so Fremont underwent its metamorphosis into a Disney theme park version of old Vegas. True it cleaned up an area down on its luck but it's a saccharine job.

You can spend all the time you want up on the strip looking at the attractions, but if you want to gamble and have fun at it, Fremont Street is your place. That said, I love the shows. Even though you know that they happen every half hour, you're always surprised when they start and they are spectacular!Recommended for:

Very cool! Grab a slushie margarita and stand under the light display for a spectacular show. Whatever the theme may be, it never disappoints. When the show is over, head over to the zip line and fly across the streets of downtown for a short, but memorable thrill ride!

The original Vegas strip. Ran down, but you get the old school feel. LG LED light show above the street that is as long as a football field, starts at night with music shows every 15 or 30 minutes. Stop by Golden Nugget to see the shark tank at the swimming pool.

The Fremont Street Experience isn’t just “old Vegas,” it really is the street that never sleeps! The bright and flashing lights seriously make the street look like daylight even when it’s dark out!
There are restaurants, gift shops, casinos, bands performing, even zip-lining above the crowds! The coolest part about being out and about on Fremont Street is their giant canopy that turns into a musical visual show every hour! Whatever you happen to be doing out there, you still have a front row view of the show!
Whether you are a first time visitor or a local, there’s a little something for everyone!

I love the Fremont Experience much more than the "New" Strip. The light show is exhilerating! All the free concert are fun. Sometimes there are 3-4 bands playing at once. Now, they have the zipline, which is crazy zipping over people opposed to trees, streams and widelife. The little shops, casinos, and bars just makes more more excitement.

So much random fun! You never know who you will run into. It is very laid-back and there is no need to dress up here. Bring some singles and a camera to get photographed with the locals who dress up like celebrities. There are usually bands playing live music at either end of Fremont.

Nothing to do during the day and you're functioning well enough to leave your hotel? Come out here! There's a lot of random things to experience in the area, but my highlight was the zip line above Fremont street. Just a cool thing to do that's a little unexpected and different.

Go for the cheap minimums for gambling and cheap drinks and for a blast to the past. They did quite a bit with the arch and the lights so I recommend coming at night. I also ziplined for the first time here! Nothing too fancy but a nice, decent priced experience and fun because four people can go at the same time! and you can play bingo. :)
