Freni e Frizioni is a popular bar overlooking Piazza Trilussa in Trastevere, not to mention its pretty fabulous river views. Popular for its cheap aperitivo (€6 will get you a glass of vino and copious plates of food) and its young, trendy hippy crowd, it's a great place to hang out on a summer's evening.

I love Freni's! Their mojitos are delicious, the food is never-ending, and you can have all of it for a very low price. If you're lucky, the drummers will be out on the steps of Piazza Trilussa, and you can listen to them jamming while meeting new friends on Freni's patio.

Sit outdoors on the terrace or indoors at a communal table, but don't miss the aperitivo at Freni e Frizioni, one of Rome's most popular and full of opportunities for taking in the casual social life of the young Romani who come to eat, drink, chat, and gesture.

I absolutely love this place. The bartenders are friendly, the drinks are good and reasonably priced, and the outside area is the perfect place to hang with friends. It's such a hip vibe, though also casual and elegant. This will always be a Trastevere nightlife highlight for me.

Love Freni e Frizioni. Super easy to find, just off the Lungo Tevere (the main drag along the river) as you eneter the Trastevere district. Great drinks, bartenders and crowds usually! Good place to stop for a few negronis before you go to dinner or the bars.

In the heart of Trastevere it overlooks the beautiful Politeama square, and you can have a seat either in the colourful outside patio area or directly on the 'small wall', with a cocktail in your hand.
Inside you will find vintage furniture with contemporary art works and a laidback atmosphere chatting on a confortable sofa. Every night the square is absolutely crowded of young people.
