A good base for sightseeing and nights out in the thriving area of Beyoglu. However, the rooms are extremely small so if you intend to use your hotel as something other than a crash-pad it might not be the best option. There is a lovely roof terrace for guests to use (and there are only 5 rooms so not hard to get time to yourself up there) and there’s also a nice cafe downstairs. The area is great: on a narrow cobbled street that’s bursting with life, it doesn’t feel like you’re in tourist town, but instead like you’re actually in ‘real’ Istanbul. It’s moments from Galata Tower, the trendy spots of Cihangir and the restaurants of Beyoglu, and it’s only a short walk to get the tram to Sultanahmet where Istanbul’s historical sites are.Recommended for:

This is a small but cosy hotel situated just opposite the splendid Galata Tower. Its entrance, serving as a coffeehouse and its terrace restaurant are not the most fashionable places you can find around Galata but you are at least very approximate to some of the most elegant restaurants, pubs and clubs in town. The hotel has only five rooms, all offering the same homelike vibe. Comfort is held higher than being trendy, here. The staff are friendly and very good at what they do. It is the almost Mediterranean “pension-like” atmosphere that makes Galata Life stand out. All in all, Galata Life a very good choice for the traveller who is after spending time in the town and returning to be wrapped up with a homelike feeling.Recommended for:

The night club scene is a must see attraction in Istanbul! Galata is one of the best neighborhoods to check out the nightlife, with swarms of people out and about in this fun and upbeat shopping and club district. Note, in Istanbul, you'll smell a lot of roasted chestnuts sold by vendors, but beware, these chestnuts are not very tasty.
