This traditional Irish restaurant is located in the Temple Bar district. Great atmosphere and excellent service. I enjoyed the Chicken and Smoked Bacon Boxty which is a free range chicken filet in a creamy smoked bacon and leek sauce wrapped in a traditional Leitrim Boxty (potatoe) Pancake. The beef stew was also amazing. This is a must stop for lunch or dinner.

Located right on the main street in Temple Bar, it's surprising to me how few people actually go into Gallagher's. They have the very best (in my opinion) boxty meal in all of Dublin.

Hankering for some meat n' potatoes? Gallagher's will fix you up on the cheap. Come hungry; the portions are big.

Overrated, overpriced and right in the middle of everything tourista.

Description

One of Temple Bar's most popular pubs and restaurants, this place is especially well-known for its light Boxty potato pancakes, cooked on a griddle, stuffed with a variety of fillings, and smothered in sauce or gravy. The restaurant makes efforts to purchase its ingredients from local Irish suppliers, and you can veritably taste the green isle's roots in their dishes.
