HUGE mall, but hey this is Texas. I walked through here on my way to work while I was in the area. There is an ice rink in the middle and the typical type of shops you see at a mall like this. Fairly central to North Dallas.

The Galleria Mall has been for decades one of the premiere shopping malls in the Big D. It is anchored by the Westin Hotel, with major department stores from Macy's, Nordstrom's and Sak's Fifth Avenue.
It was opened in the 1980's and modeled after the successful Houston Galleria, and now has over 200 stores and restaurants. There are over 10,000 parking spaces and even valet services if you want it.
It is located just off the I-635 LBJ freeway in Dallas.

As far as a shopping mall goes I can't exactly give this 4 or even 5 stars. Simply because as a lover of shopping, food, great fabrics and good times this wouldn't be my first choice for either of the above. (perhaps a single expensive good fabric) This is a great place if you want the most expensive in name brands, and brag about your $300 dinner bill at the Oceanaire (which is fabulous btw). And if your willing, it is a good place to sit and star stalk. (not my idea of fun) However the layout is not impressive. (not indusive for multiple store tripes, have to work hard to get around) And there are few stores that I would shop for regular priced items. (Again think luis viutton being every store). The ice skating rink is impressive, simply because its surrounded by stores. It is, however, very small and often occupied by little girls practing their ice ruteins.

Aside from typical mall shopping experiences there is an ice skating rink in the middle of the mall. There are a number of stores that are only available at the Galleria in the D/FW area. There are additional shopping areas nearby with more boutique options if looking for more.

This is the biggest mall in Dallas. Although some might argue that the traditional American mall is on the decline; it would be hard to argue that point here. November-December is the best time to visit because they put up a 5 story high Christmas tree in the middle of the ice skating rink. It's a fun place to shop. You can also book a room at the attached Westin Hotel.

This is one big mall. Galleria Dallas offers everything from an ice skating rink to stores as uncommon in most places as Zara. The food court offers all types of food, my favorite being the French bistro at the bottom. It's also connected to several hotels and a parking garage so large it sent chills down my spine.
