Awesome little gallery/store located in Alhambra on a pretty busy Main St.
It may seem like there's no parking but just go back around, and there are several lots available. Just don't park in the one that says Bank only :P
I came here for the Alice show and it was well-curated plus the pieces were just plain awesome. Looking at their past and future events, this place holds a variety of very cool shows, so I'll be coming back more often :)
As for the store itself, the prices were a little high. It's more of an amusement factor to browse around while you're waiting for the gallery section to open in the back.
They like to hold videogame, charity, movie, and overall awesome exhibits pertaining to pop culture. This has become one of my very favorite galleries. :)

Gallery space and store that has great shows. I stop in once every few months and always find an art print or two that I want to buy. I've even taken a class here for book binding. Pretty cool. Only thing is that the upstairs gallery area is not air conditioned so it can get really hot up there when there's a lot of people or just a hot day, and sometimes for really popular shows it can get INSANELY crowded with bad crowd control.

Art imitates life or does life imitate art?
What can I say, it's a free art gallery in the middle of Alhambra. The great part about the gallery is that the exhibits are changing every few weeks. The themes range from comic books, video games, literature, and cute but dark themes. The day I went, the theme was cute but creepy things. For instance, there was a painting with a zombie baby eating brains (cute but creepy). In a sense, it's great that the Nucleus helps promote artists artworks because everything is on sale here.
The gift shop here is pretty cool as well. There are plenty of art books, miniature figurines, and gift trinkets. Look for parking in the back of the store for 2 hours (that's more than plenty of time). Definitely a cool little art gallery, go check it out!

I love this gallery. I visited when they were showcasing art themed around Alice in Wonderland and it was absolutely delightful. I wish I could have purchased one of the original pieces but had to make do with some prints. Definitely one of my favorite galleries.

This place has interesting books and trinkets, similar to the Giant Robot store. It's also a place I recognize from independent films I've seen. And it's a great place to have events, in an artsy and classy way. e.g. The gogobot launch party.

Really cool shop and art gallery.
The upstairs area doesn't seem to have air conditioning, so during the heat time, dress accordingly.
The downstairs is really cool. There are books and shirts and just interesting things being sold. There is a $10 shirt section and they are all really cute stuff.
There wasn't an art gallery there when I went but I can see how cool it'd be if there was one.
This is also an available rented space for parties and small events. It's really cool for a party.
Can't wait to come to one of the art galleries.

Nucleus has been one of my favorite galleries in LA for a about 7+ years. I fell in love with the type of artists (Chris Appelhans, Audrey Kawasaki) that come through here, the merchandise the gallery shop carries and all the fun events and openings that are thrown here.
The art they exhibit is contemporary, graphic and narrative. There's plenty of good food around the area if you're looking to make a day out of visiting here. :)
