Great place to picnic, walk,or even visit the trading post for some excellent food and service with nice size gift shop you may even sit inside and read or eat. Best about 3:30 after thunder showers to smell all the wonderful vegetation and have a cool stroll.

Colorado Springs, CO; Garden of the Gods is a city park in Colorado Springs, at the east edge of the Rocky Mountains in central Colorado, and features upturned, jagged, and red sandstone rocks. It's a nice drive thru the park and there are plenty of hiking areas to trek across on. Bring plenty of water and some snacks because this isn't a quick one hour drive thru. You would want to make this an all-day adventure. RG 3/2011

This is a very magic place. Huge, sharp red rocks rise from the heart among the green grass. The contrast is really beautiful. As for the most part of parks, they are even better at sunset, when the red colour of the rocks become warmer.

A truly gorgeous place to visit. It is no wonder why they call it Garden of the Gods. We went when it was winter and covered with snow. The scenery was like from a painting. So surreal. The drive is a good hefty drive from Denver.
