It was definitely busy when I arrived and when I left. I loved the old style schedule board with the little panels flipping/changing. I was actually meeting a tour group here, so pretty much after I got off the train, I found the tour guide and headed off with them, so I didn't really have to navigate much on my own once here.

The French transportation system is one of the most efficient in the world. This station is easy, there is signage and you can get from here to virtually anywhere in France easily.

Complete and utter chaos. It's a good thing my friend new exactly what platform I was coming in on, or I would have no idea where to go. The crowds are intense, the directions are pretty much non-existant, and as far as train stations go, I've seen a lot better. That being said.....there aren't a lot of other alternatives. So just prepare yourself and don't start judging until you get outside.

Gare du Nord (North Station) is one of the busiest rail station in Paris. It serves as an important connection line to most transit stations throughout intercontinental Europe. I went to this station to go en route from Paris to London. Despite its large size, I found it easy to get around.Recommended for:Backpackers

One of many, but probably one of the main, train stations in Paris. BE ON ALERT there are pick pockets everywhere, this place is just swarming with them. If you go there keep your belongings close.

This is the station you will use for the high-speed trains to and from London/Brussels and Line B RER to the Charles de Gaulle airport (CDG). It is somewhat confusing so it does help if you are leaving from here to come earlier and check out the place so you don't waste time trying to find out where you need to be. This is the busiest train station in Europe so watch your belongings.

A train station is a train station most of the time. It has its shops, ticketing stations, and customs counters (?). The last one is because it is also the boarding station for the Eurostar to go to London. The station is a little dirty and so is the surrounding neighborhood. Again though, it's just a train station.
