Gas Works Park is my favorite Seattle picture taking spot. The park is wonderfully hilly with the largest one being a great viewpoint. It has great views of Lake Union, Space Needle and the Seattle skyline. This park is interesting in that it was formerly a gasification plant and some of the machinery is left over as a result. This is a great spot for a picnic or sunbathing as well. Location is close to the Fremont neighborhood which is an attraction in itself.

Gas Works Park has a small gas works plant that is no longer in use, but it's a great park to take pictures. One of the reasons why is because the park offers an excellent city view of downtown Seattle, including the Space Needle. I would suggest coming to Gas Works before sunset.Recommended for:Outdoor Enthusiasts

Beautiful Gasworks Park is beautiful year-round, which is probably why it's a popular filming location for movies set in Seattle. It's probably most famous for appearing in a playful paintball fight scene in “Ten Things I Hate About You” starring a young Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles. In addition to the striking image of the rusted-but-preserved gas plant decommissioned before the park was established, Gasworks has an emerald-green kite-flying hill and a stunning view of the Seattle skyline overlooking Lake Union.

Come to this lakefront park on Seattle's Lake Union on a Sunday at noon and you'll see LARPers (live action role play) guys battling with fake swords. It's very Seattle. You can see the Space Needle, downtown, and the neighboring houseboats next door.

Gas Works Park has one of the best views of Seattle, with Lake Union in the foreground. During the day it's good for a picnic, frisbee, or just strolling, and at night, the views of the city lights on the water are postcard perfect.
