I think out of all the neighborhoods in Vancouver I enjoyed Gastown the most. This cute town is filled with restaurants, bars and trendy boutiques. Make sure you have stop by Flying Pig for a delicious dinner and drinks!

The oldest part of town definitely has its charms with is cobblestone streets & restored buildings. It is a bit overloaded with souvenir shops but the steam clock and choice of restaurants make it a Vancouver landmark.

Gastown used to be run down and no where a tourist would go, but over 30 years ago, it got a facelift and made into a tourist destination. Now, it is somewhere that has for me become too touristy with fast food and souvenir shops dominating the heritage streets. There are some nice design stores amongst the tourist crowded streets.

Sure it's a big tourist area, but for good reason: cobblestone streets, charming street lamps, lots of coffee shops and restaurants and boutiques and bars. Any visit to Vancouver should include a stop in Gastown, whether it's a tour of historical sites like the steam clock or simply an evening of drinking beer and playing pool in one of the area's delightful night spots.

Historic Vancouver at its best. Check out great restaurants and shops. Don't miss the steam clock at the corner of Water Street and Cambie. Easily accessible by the SeaBus it's a gateway to Chinatown and all that downtown Vancouver has to offer.

Gastown is filled with souvenir shops, restaurants and bars. It is also home to the Gastown Steam Clock, the Gassy Jack statue, and Hill's Native Art store. Look out for film crews.
Easy walk from all of the hotels near Canada Place & the convention center.

Vancouver's small "european quarter" ...or "Old town" so to speak. It's a pretty cute area, I'll be honest. It's got a couple of cobbled streets and some architecture which is older than 20 years, which is a rarity in the city of glass towers. There are also some lovely pubs, restaurants, cares and little retail shops in this area.
