Gay London

Featured Guide
London city is huge, giving rise to new gayborhoods. Soho the most renowned, but the rise of the clubbing scene in Vauxhall (South West of House of Parliament next to Waterloo) opened the railway arches to a new gay area with popular clubs including Area and Fire, cultural showhouses including Royal Vauxhall Tavern and Eagle bar and the infamous gay sauna - Chariots. Go East and find Shoreditch a hub for young quirky queers.

Head to Greenwich, Islington, Camden or Clapham and here too you will find some excellent gay bars to hang out at. I've spent 13 years in London...and I love the gay scene here.

The Yard

Welcome to my favourite watering hole, come rain come shine, come summer, come winter. The courtyard is perfectly socialable and pretty much covered and warm for most of the year. The first floor has great sofas and is kept incredibly warm for the winter (though maybe too warm in the summer). The bar...

Rocco Forte Brown's Hotel

Wow, Wow, Wow, beautiful hotel. Amazing! I love it. If only I could travel Rocco Forte more regularly. The brand also really caters well to gay travelers which I love and works with a lot of other gay travel brands, so this incredibly stylish, well-serviced hotel is the place to go if you want to Splurge...

Dirty Burger

OMG! Amazing! Crispy cooked cheese; seasoned sauce; thick juicy burger; fluffy white baps. I could easily have had several more than I did and I wished I had ordered the Crinkle Chips as they too were just incredible. This place is tiny, but packs a punch in the right way. PERFECT food!...

Comptons of Soho

I really like this place, maybe more so as I get older. When I was in my early 20's I was terrified of all the huge men, big muscle guys, and massive beards; now I notice it's more misunderstanding of style as I stand with my beer, tall and broad with a beard! The patrons are always really friendly and the bar...

Royal Vauxhall Tavern

100% Quirky 100% Cultural 100% Community 100% Queer 100% Cool. This has some of the most odd entertainment, and some of the most -cracking line-ups the comedy circuit can see. This place has something happening most evenings of the week and is famous for its BarWotever nights and Dukie events....

Admiral Duncan

What a piece of gay London that really remains. This historic bar is laid-back - popular with tourists and younger gays; it's the bar that was a victim of a homophobic nail bomb attack in the 1990's. It's still standing strong; so head here to lift a toast to the victims, and great equality of gay people...

Clone Zone

Fantastic store for all your supplies and clothing requirements. Clone Zone is very well target at the gay market with a range of fetish gear, DVDs, creams and stocks condoms so you can enjoy your nights out. Just be careful not to fall into any of the clothes racks...they fit a lot in for a small store....

The Edge Bar

The brightly light exterior is a beacon in a relatively dark and quiet Soho Square. Four floors, food, drinks, entertainment this gay bar packs the punches. Right off Oxford Street, so even during the day it's a fantastic resting place. It's small - but fun. The staff are incredibly friendly, the DJs...

G-A-Y Bar

Oh this is one fantastic party bar and where to start before heading to Heaven GAY. They often have fantastic drink offers and happy hours. Gay pop music blares across both floors of this moody yet lively bar. It's popular with students and can often get packed during the week for Student nights. If you...

The Ku Bar

This is one of the best pre-club places to go to in London just by China Town. It's lively with the younger audience every weekend and certainly a pre-GAY meeting place. The bar staff are hot - hot - hot! And you're sure to meet some lovely people here. This is a definite!...
