There is a reason this place is rated so low. I got stuck in this situation bidding on Priceline. I get it for well under $80. It is right next to the airport but unlike EVERY hotel in the area they don't have a shuttle. They will gladly pick you up for almost $200 I got $100 rental car, $27 Valet Parking $19 resort fee. My cheap overnight stay at the Dallas Airport is all the sudden not what I planed. I get in my room and its dirty. TV and AC will not work. Have a nice view of a parking structure. when I asked the Manager on duty Ashley why they don't have a shuttle from the airport I felt like I was talking to a Mc Donalds employee. She had zero customer service ability. Stacy Baytops needs to speed a lot of time with Ashley and train her and determine if she should be dealing with guests.

After check in we sat around waiting for a bellman. After awhile we just took all our bags to our room ourselves.

Rooms are small, I would take a basic old two story pool in the middle park your car in front of your room no tell motel over this dump any day !!

The Gaylord Texan is far and away from pretty much everything in the DFW metroplex. Still, with its rolling, palatial grounds, and close proximity to the Grapevine Mills Mall and the airport, it's worth checking out. My family visited on staycation one year and we absolutely fell in love with the lazy river in the fabulous pool area. The hotel itself was a beautiful, indoor oasis and in the winter, it's host to ICE, a spectacular exhibit of themed ice sculptures. Also, there's a night club onsite called the Glass Cacuts that has an active schedule of entertainment nightly.

I’ve spent significant time at the Gaylord Palms Resort in Orlando and, after my time there I have to say I’m a big fan of all the Gaylord properties so I was excited to go back to the Gaylord Texan. The huge property is Texas proud and is designed with plants and trees that are native to Texas and even a fun Riverwalk that’s similar to the one in San Antonio. There’s Opening Bell Coffee Shop has a bell like the Alamo and the Riverwalk Cantina is a fun Tex-Mex restaurant with light fixtures made from tequila bottles and wine bottles and there’s a sculpture that a Gaylord Star made out of beer bottle caps. Gaylord Stars are the employees, the Gaylord wants you to have fun there and clearly they’ve found that to have happy guests you need to have happy staff and that they’re having a good time helps make your stay a little more enjoyable. Forgot to grab a souvenir, don’t worry, there’s a shop where you can pick something up for the most picky on your list but the children’s clothing shop has some really cute stuff and the Texas themed shop even has cowboy boots. If you’re there in the summer you’ll want to head to Paradise Springs, the Resort Pool and Lazy River where you can float the river, ride the zip line or even grab a cabana and relax with your friends, it’s so much fun that you may never get a chance to check out the cute shops and wineries in the quaint town of Grapevine.
