I'm not a fan of the americanized Japanese restaurants but this place was great!
Parking is tough in the area but they do offer valet. Since I live walking distance, I'm not familiar with the cost and street parking in the area. The entrance is off of Cherokee Avenue right by the valet stand but it may be a tad confusing, just look for thick dark curtains and enter through it. Once you push the curtain to the side and walk in, you walk down a very dark hallway towards the hostess stand. They have a really nice bar/lounge area I'd love to come back for drinks. The dining area is very dark as well so you might need to pull out your cell phone flashlight app to read the menu!!
Onto the food:
--Surf and Turf roll ($22) lobster, filet mignon. Loved it!
--Octopussy roll ($17) octopus/spicy tuna. It was just ok.
--The Cowboy ($12) filet of beef, asparagus, & cream cheese. The cream cheese threw me off a bit but it was decent.
--Albacore Carpachio - My favorite. Good quality fish with cruchies sprinkled on top.
--Chicken Karaage - I grew up eating very good karaage and I approve of theirs.
--Miso Glazed Black Cod - portion is small but good.
--Shrimp Dumpling: Don't bother, it was NOT tasty.
Overall, the food was great! I guess it can be a bit pricey so you can look for a groupon deal or maybe even on yelp. I think on Monday's they have a 1/2 off special on food but I'd double check with them first.
I've been twice in the last few months and the service was fantastic each time. From the moment we walked in until we walked out, everybody was fantastic. Whomever does the hiring should be commended. Another big plus is that they employ some GREAT looking people.

My bf took me here for Vday this year (this is our second time here) and they had a special menu that was pretty affordable. A 4 course meal for around $90 for two people. This def beats ordering random things from the menu. The kobe steak was prob the best. I didn't like the surf and turf roll as much as how others raved about it. I'm upset we didn't see the geishas this time. We did get to take pictures with them last year though. Overall, I think people go here for the atmosphere and not as much for the food. The whole environment is really hip and they have a really nice bar area to chill at. My only complaint is prob the small cramped space. Its like a maze in there - 3 floors and different little hallways...you can get really lost in there.

Went here for a more fun style work dinner & loved the food. Made reservations so it was easy to walk in and get seated. They even valet parked my 1960's VW Van! (really hard to drive and park). . . It was pretty dark in the restaurant and the music was a bit too loud but that didnt seem to bother the people who were on dates etc.
Food was lip smacking delicious!

I went on a Monday when rolls are half off. Not sure if they still have that deal, but it's not promoted at the restaurant. You have to request it. Our miso soup and sushi rolls turned out great! Very delicious. If we didn't get our food for half off I would have though it would be too expensive. The service was okay. It was kinda slow even though it wasn't very busy. The restaurant has a very hip look to it. Kinda rock n' roll and kinda LA. I love it.
