Genoa is an unincorporated town in Douglas County. Founded in 1850, it was the first settlement in what became the Nevada Territory. It is situated within Carson River Valley and is about 42 miles south of Reno.

This is where Gayle's Dad grew up and where the extended family (including her Mom) continue to live. Gayle and I may join them in the near future. It's a special little village.
