Description

When you visit Atlanta, be sure to schedule some time to see the magnificent Georgia State Capitol. Built in 1889 and recognized as a National Historic Landmark in 1973, it serves as the primary building for the state government. If the history of Georgia interests you, a museum on the fourth floor of the capitol offers numerous displays and artifacts that detail the state's storied past. From January through April, the Georgia State Assembly meets on the third floor of the capitol. Visitor's galleries allow you to see the legislature in action.
