I wish I had had a chance to see the rooms and all the amenities here! But I stopped by to interview their new chef (who is awesome) and had a chance to enjoy the soaring lobby. This is one of the oldest and most historic hotels in Atlanta but it feels very modern and up to date. No musty smells or Civil War ghosts. Their restaurant, Livingston, is an elegant Old Hollywood-type dining room with a fabulous patio that I would highly recommend using. If you're a more jeans and t-shirt kind of person, check out their speakeasy style restaurant in the basement, Proof & Provision. Great craft cocktails and artful bar bites. If you're a history buff, ask about the Electric Ballroom, where some amazing musicians have played when they could not sell enough tickets to book the Fox Theatre (which is right across the street). It's a beautiful and high-end hotel rich in local history.Recommended for:

Atlanta history buffs seeking the full historic experience might do well to stay at one of the city’s most well recognized historic hotels: The Georgian Terrace.
Located across the street from the Fox Theatre, the pair have held a strong historic relationship since the theatre first opened in 1929, and many of the hotel’s most important historic events were tied to the Fox.
During Gone With the Wind’s premier in Atlanta, much of the movie’s cast and the director stayed at the Terrace, and the film’s premiere party was held at the hotel. In 1946, Walt Disney stayed at the hotel during the premiere of his movie Song of the South. Presidents Calvin Coolidge and Warren Harding have stayed at the Terrace. Recently, many modern film and television stars have frequently made use of the hotel with Atlanta’s growing film and television industry.Recommended for:

The Georgian Terrace Hotel is a highly venerated hotel in Atlanta. Sitting literally across the street from the Fox Theater, the Georgian Terrace was where Gone With the Wind had its reception following the world premiere. Despite its history, the hotel is really more of a stay for those attending weddings or conferences. If you want a more intimate hotel experience, I would recommend staying elsewhere.Recommended for:

A beautiful hotel in a great location across the street from the Fox Theatre. I had a great personal experience here because I had a free room upgrade from a standard room to a suite. The decor was tasteful and a wonderful view of the Atlanta skyline. The livingroom is very nice with a large flat screen tv, a velvet couch, and a spacious office area. I highly recommend this hotel while in Atlanta.

The Georgian Terrace Hotel is elegant, well-kept, atmospheric, and a great deal. I called a couple of weeks ahead to reserve a room for my wife's and my wedding night. The reservation consultant was extremely helpful and accommodating. Upon arriving late in the evening, the bell hop/valet assistant (an older gentleman) opened our car door and greeted us with delight and professionalism. He called my wife by her new married name (Mrs. ...) which made her very happy. Checking-in was easy and quick. The lobby is truly a work of art with its lounge area towering high up into the building's center. The room itself was spacious. I asked for a suite, which included a sitting area with TV, a small dining table, a kitchen, a hall to the bathroom, and a master bedroom. It felt more like a fancy apartment than a hotel room with high-rising ceilings (approx. 10 feet). The bedroom itself was a half circle, with windows lining its outer rim, complete with wood shades (allowing the room to be completely dark, if so desired). The bathroom had a nice-sized tub. The kitchen came with a full-size refrigerator, which was handy for keeping our sparkling wine chilled. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and often talk of staying again, when we pass through the Atlanta area. We highly recommend it.

I don't know if other co-workers just got better rooms than I did, but I did not enjoy my time there. But first, the building itself is gorgeous. The marble, the staircases, just the view when you stand in the atrium and look up - you can picture a grandness of yesteryears. The staff is also really friendly. As for the specific room I got... it was laid out like an old apartment. I had multiple closets down the hallway to the bedroom. There was a kitchenette (microwave, oven, full size fridge). But the double beds in there were old, creaky and uncomfortable. No back support whatsoever. It was loud; I could hear all the activity across at the Fox Theatre. The bathroom was old and outdated - some of the shower curtain rings broke! I'm sure they have nicer rooms; I just didn't get one of them.
