Era ora = goed Italiaans resto, wel uitgebreid dineren ook :) Vanboven op Radisson hotel in centrum ook lekker resto en mooi uitzicht. Dagje fietsen in en rond Kopenhagen is zeker ook de moeite.

In the many months I spent here as a tourist, living in the southern tip of Copenhagen on the Amager Island chain and going to school at the University of Copenhagen, I can say I fell deeply in love ... read more
with this funky, free-spirited and welcoming community. Christiania has about 15 square miles of homes, lakes, squatter-shacks, hash and burger stands, replete with a healthy dose of "stray" dogs (I use the term loosely because they are more like family to the residents and are all un-neutered/spade and nice and dirty) and squaking geese and swans, you'll find yourself meandering along the numerous trails and secret pathways that trickle through the cobbled-together buildings and stands and streak past the many lakes that are absolutely beautiful in the summer time.People are generally extremely friendly here, with the exception of the few outsider Danish "gangsters" (another loosely-used term as they are much tamer than our variety here in the states) and you'll see many people eating and conversing genially along the aforementioned gorgeous scenery, more often than not enjoying some of the local Hashish and imported Marijuana, medicinally of course. It's far from uncommon to have a group of people come and join you and immediately bring up conversation, music, laughter, maybe a couple joints and always a good time.

Also, depending on when you're going, the winter festival starts kicking up around now and there will a lot of egg nog, abelskiver, beer, stouts, trinkets, food, cheese, and marijuana to sample as you wander through the town and there is an alternating acid/cool jazz cafre right off the main road into town with a crazy old woman guarding the door. Well worth a visit.

This is like a mini city right in the middle of Copenhagen. It's a car free hippie type commune that welcomes visitors into their neighborhood. They have a few different restaurants and bars, health ... read more
food store, bakery and a little museum. Make sure to give the whole area a nice walk through. The funny houses by the lake are a MUST!

There are 2 parts to this mega store...the furniture and home side (the best!) and then the department store, which is like a Nordstrom if you're from the U.S. or a scaled-down version of Harrod's if ... read more
you are from the UK.I highly recommend visiting the furniture side (upstairs on the 3rd floor) as well as the lighting floor on the 4th. You get to see a massive collection of Danish designed furniture and lighting all in one place. The first floor is like a Danish Crate & Barrel and has lots of unique items that are harder to find (or more expensive) in the U.S. It's a great way to spend an hour or two.

Charming upscale carnival complete with rides, restaurants, little shops and hourly plays. There is a kids' area for 'beginner' rides, too. Do yourself a favor and buy tickets in advance (some hotels ... read more

gym/fitness center with awesome equipment, fitness classes, a sauna, etc. The staff is very friendly and accommodating. They have a pretty decent breakfast/brunch every morning if you don't feel like venturing out of the hotel. Don't bother with the breakfast on the top floor of the hotel (it's exactly the same stuff served) unless you want to pay for the view (which is nice, I admit). I'd definitely stay here again. NOTE: like many European hotels, you have to ask for a queen bed, otherwise you'll get two twin beds shoved together and they're on wheels, which means if you even move in your sleep you'll wake up on the other side of the room.

the middle of the restaurant so you get to watch everything being prepared. The patio also gives you a great view inside Tivoli (which I also recommend visiting). The only dish I wasn't overly fond of was the Skate (a white fish). I've had Skate in the U.S. and here and it's always rather tasteless. The rest of their dishes do not disappoint.

Make sure you grab a hot dog from this place! Avoid the local Danish hot dog stands and head straight here. They're amazing. And I don't normally go near a hot dog.
